Just got back from Myrtle Beach, SC!

First time in 8 years I have had a Vacation. I am a caregiver for my mom, so getting away is not easy without a lot of planning and $$$$.

I must say my 09 Tl was a blast to drive. It was the first time I have gone on a long trip in it. On the highway, the car felt smooth and planted. There were times I reach speeds of 105MPH. The roll on, acceleration for passing was just incredible, especially with the noise coming from my intake. They must not see may TL's down south, cuz everywhere I went, people admired my car and ask what kind it was. Having the weather and traffic on the nav was a big plus. Really comes into play when traveling.MY car does shine like class, and I am super anal about it. So much so, instead of taken 95 from Washington I took the long route down 301. That added 3 more hours to my drive time. I was really concerned about rock chips. even though I have a clear bra. I manage to get there and back, with one minor chip thats hard to see. Touch-up paint will take care of it. Gas mileage was around 26MPG. I could had done better, but I had my foot in it a lot. Especially on the single lane roads whenI had the opportunity to pass, I put my foot into it. Some of the good ole boys down south are never in a hurry to go anywhere! Needless to say I am a urban combat driver, so their easy driven and my get there yesterday did not mesh at all.

Sound system was awesome and the AC worked really well. Having the weather and traffic on the nav was a big plus. Really comes into play when traveling. When I got to Myrtle Beach the temp was 104and humid! I wiped my car down to put the cover on it, and it was like someone poured water all over me. I never felt heat like that before.

Anyway, I know there are better cars out there, but for my money I love my TL!

I went down there over the 4th. During the week I was there I did not see one other 4G which really surprised me. On the other hand, it seemed like there was a MDX on every corner. I also agree they must really, really believe in the speed limit. (very frustrating)

I know how that can be, being a caregiver for ones mom. I've taken trips to Chattanooga, TN, Charleston, SC, and Richmond, VA in mine..very nice ride. Heading to DC and Philly next month. There are s few down this way, but you have to be in like Atlanta or Augusta even then in certain areas to come across them. But when folks see it they are like, "Nice car."
Nice to now you enjoyed the trip and ride.

I'll be in the ATL in August

Taken my car to Philly multiple times - never seen another TL. Also, I'm in Delaware daily, and I'm pretty sure I'm the only TL

I rarely see another 4G on my daily commute. I see 3G's everyday. The 4G 's I do see don't seem to notice me or acknowledge it if they do. I do get the rare 3G'r giving me a thumbs up.

Lot's of 4G's in LA. 3 in my nieghborhood. But then again LA is known as the cutting edge car capital of the world. Which is why so many design studios are in SoCal. With all due respect to car lovers across America there's a reason they're not located in Topeka or even NY.

If a rock hits hard enough, yes. Usually less damage with the clean bra and you can still use touch up paint on the bra. It does make it easier to get the bugs off too. I would not have a car without a clear bra. Thats just me. I have had good success with the ones I have installed on my cars.

"Urban Combat Driver"... love that term!

My wife fits that description, but she just picked up a 2011 Chrysler 300. IT IS AN AWESOME CAR, but based upon its very heavy feel it has temporarily cured her of that tendency.

If I pick up a 4G TL next year (2x TL owner here) when my current lease expires, I'm not going to let her drive it!!!
