I Need Your Opinions!

So I was contacted by my Acura Dealer a couple of days ago and they asked would I be willing to have them buy me out of my lease of my 2010 SH-AWD TL 6MT and put me in a 2012 6MT.

I currently have 14 months left on the lease. The car is in perfect shape and only has 9,800 miles on it. I pay $494/M but I put an additional $1,500 down to keep my payment under 500/M.

Here is their offer: No negotiation has taken place yet.

They buy out the remaining 14 months of my lease.

I put no money down. I pay tax and DMV fee's + 1st month.

If I pay the tax upfront I pay about $2,400 at lease signing and about $500/M.

If I role the tax into the monthly payment I pay about $850 at lease signing and about $550/month. This is most likely what I would do if I decide to do it.

Should I do it or just keep my 2010?

Thanks!

Wow, they are desperate for used cars right now!!
It's a lease right? Term is 36 or 48mo? If the term is 36 then give 'um $2,400 and you are in a new car!!!

It is for 36 months. I have learned that you should always pay as little upfront as possible so I would role the tax into the monthly payment and pay the $850 at lease signing instead.

Could you sell the car yourself?

So I just got back from my Acura Dealer and here is where we're at. Note: What I am listing below it with tax rolled into the monthly payment. Plus they are buying out the last 14 months of my lease.

2012 SH-AWD 6 MT with body side molding and splash guards.

1st months/monthly payment: $569.01
DMV fees and Insurance: $210
Upfront Tax: $83
Cap Reduction: $750
Total Inception Fees: $1,612.01
Dealer Customer Loyalty: - $750

Total due a lease signing: $862.01

Now if you figure in the $495 I would be paying October 14th anyway for my 2010, my total out of pocket costs are: $367

That's $367 and I'm in a 2012 SH-AWD 6 MT.

What do you guys think? LOL!

Hey Treblig, how do you like the white? I see it's a brighter white then the '09 -'11's. I'm on the fence about it but since my color choices are slim I may be getting a white one.

I had the White Diamond Pearl on my 2006 RL which I liked, but I actually like the Bellanova White Pearl better. I didn't think I would though. It is a much whiter white and looks great cleaned up. I think you'll like it.

Wait, you were trying to stay under $500/month, yes?

All in all, it's very tempting for a '12 MT.

Wow - that sounds like a pretty awesome deal. I know the last 2 Acura's I've had the dealership was able to upsell me by buying my TSX and then my TL-S.

But I haven't regretted it either time, as i got great deals at the time. This sounds like a great deal, so if you like the 2012 more than your 2010 go for it!

the reviews said the tuning of the power steering in the 2012's was a step backwards. any comment on this? Have you test driven the '12 you're considering?

I have not test driven the 2012 as there are no 6MT's to test drive.

BTW, I got the call yesterday and it will be at my dealer tomorrow.
