The price of the deal is $39380. Why are you counting your trade in the "deal"? That's not a discount or a rebate or anything. That's almost like paying them cash.
Your question should be, is $39.380 a good price?
It's not a Steal but it's also not a rip-off either. It's just a good price. It's below MSRP and below the average true car price.

There are a ton of online auto calculators you can use to figure this out. Edmunds and KBB have good ones.
Looks like OTD with taxes in MA you're looking at ~$38,200?
Figure .9% for 60 months - I'm getting around a 650/month payment

When I leased mine in February 2012, they wouldn't let me leave till I signed the deal
Therefore, I got them down to $38,380, including carpeted mats, wheel locks, and an Acura hat!
Then they tried strong arming me with fee's & taxes, that were B.S.
Bottom line: I got a GREAT deal, on MY terms
They probably only made $3-500, total
Everyone was smiling at the handshake conclusion; especially, me.

He still has to pay taxes and all the other fees, then his payment will go up. I got mine for about that price with 5,000 down 72 months at 559 a month, this included an APR of 3.24. I got a 12 AWD tech, advance with 19 inch rims.

I paid $38,593 on June 13 and while I think I got a good deal, I don't think I got a great deal. I also did not get the loyalty or conquest cash. The only thing I was able to negotiate into the deal were the splash guards. Bottom line, I think you can do better, especially if you are getting the loyalty cash.

The dealer always wins, as long as you're happy with the final terms is all that matters. Everyone uses a different strat when they buy. I personally don't say shit about a trade or cash down until the final price of the car is reached. Then I hit them with the details.
I bought my '12 SH-AWD w/tech at the end of October last year and got what I considered a great deal on the car, $39K with 7 yr warranty. This particular dealer played the take my numbers back to the finance guy game. They tried talking monthly payments up front, but I simply said I don't deal that way, and they dropped it, which I appreciated. Once the price was in my comfort zone, I talked trade.
I'm still giddy about the deal I got, traded in a paid for 2006 Avalon limited - that car held its value beautifully. The best advice I can give anyone, do your research before hand, and have your smartphone ready with websites open to run the numbers yourself, and get the deal you're comfortable with.

I don't think they're giving you enough of a discount. Acura really needs to sell cars right now.
I got a quote recently for a FWD TL Advanced (I don't want or need AWD here in So Cal). The MSRP is $42,420 and they're quoting the car for $36,614 + TTL. That's almost $6k off and that's what you should be shooting for. Your trade in and loyalty would be on top of that.
BTW, I'm curious how 012TL-GLM feels after going from an Avalon to a TL SH-AWD? I'm considering the same move but I'm not sure if I can get used to the stiffer ride and increased noise levels. I'd love the ELS stereo though.

The thing is most franchise dealerships are rather large. They really don't need to and typically DON'T bend over backwards to sell a new car.
Like 012TL-GLM said, dealer always wins. That indeed is true. Your goal when purchasing a new vehicle is to make sure YOU feel good about the deal you struck and you didn't OVERPAY. By overpay, I usually mean true value and what others are paying.
Like I said, most franchise dealers are rather large, and really they don't have to sell the new cars at bargains because they'll just reel in the next sucker that walks in.
Franchise dealers are NOT your corner stealership lots where they're desperate to make sales.
However, I'm not saying you can't strike a GREAT deal. It does happen, ESPECIALLY when the dealer advertises that ONE car to lure people in. Jump on that ONE car and you will likely strike a great deal.
Keep working them, and settle at the level that you think is FAIR and can afford. Don't fall into the monthly payment trap. The dealer has a million ways to restructure deals to different financial institutions.
I'm a Finance Manager, and I see this all the time. Each lender has their guide lines. You can structure deals, SAME DEALS, 20 different ways to make it qualify.
Example:
The bank might not like the selling price so the dealer will cut back the selling price but add the difference on an accessory. Your amount financed never goes down but selling price did. Your monthly payment is still the same but all of a sudden the deal is now approved at the bank.
Going into a dealership educated is your best weapon. Have a price in mind that you're willing to pay for what you're getting and work around that.

I can honestly say the only feature of the Avalon I miss is the larger trunk. I haven't noticed much more cabin noise. The engine sounds fantastic inside, and on the interstate locked in at 85mph, you can still have normal volume conversation, although typically I'm driving solo and have that ELS stereo cranked, currently stuck in an Audioslave loop
