How do you lock your car?

Wondering what the most efficient way to lock my car when getting out and leaving the car. I can't believe that it doesn't automatically lock itself when the fob is out of range - apparently it can only figure out when I come close, not when I am too far away - weird.
It sucks how the lock button is buried behind the inner door handle and the exterior button requires me to stop, turn around, and press a small button.

Is there an easier way?
Note, my old 3G had a door lock button that was much better positioned on the inner door panel, not to mention a bunch of other stuff that was way better than this 'improved' version.

but what if you leave your infant in the car that you leave while you go put the michelob light in the fridge real quick before getting the rest of the groceries? Wife goes back out to the car to get the kid...who's choking on a grape he found in the car seat. She's trying frantically to get back in to save the baby while it sits there turning blue.

I expect a full apology to Acura and this forum for this thread.

Unfortunately, the fob has no tactile feel - so every time I want to press a button I have to pull it out of my pocket. Frustrating how they moved away from the triangle button layout on the 3G - it was easy to remember and could be pressed without looking.

I don't have any of that fancy stuff but on my wife's car I just press the one on the car door when I get out.

That button sucks too on this model?

Ahhh. I hear that. Maybe my pants are a tad tight but my key fob doesnt move around when I walk much. So when I put my fob in my pocket upside down it means my lock button is the bottom most button. I can typically find that button by just reaching into my pocket.

For me though with my ILX I just press the lock button on the outer door handle every time I get out of the car and the car auto unlocked whenever I touch the handle so I really only need to lock or unlock it with the fob for someone else.

Seriously? No, seriously?

You created a thread to complain about having to pull a fucking key fob out of your pocket? This is the worst thing you have to face everyday? I'd hate to see what you would've done 20 years ago. If this is what humanity is coming to, I don't want to live anymore. Goodbye, world.
