How cold have you started you TL in?

Just a chit chat thread.

It was 9 deg. F here in the Boston area the morning and the car was left sitting out in the hotel parking lot overnight. Started right up w/o any hesitations. No strange noises, etc.

Impressed!

12 degrees F last week. Frozen the whole day while it was parked outside the office.

No problemos!

-22 C or -7.6 F here in Quebec. No problem but then it's normal with new cars. My last Honda always started in cold weather, even when going down to -30 Celcius to -40 Celcius...even after 6 years...

Last week we had a couple of frigid days. No problems starting @ -15 F other than the seats being like ice blocks

Don't own a TL...but, as a former CL owner, I've started the puppy up in -40°F before.

Yeah, FML.

Ditto for Boston, it was a cold, cold morning. Let it warm up for a min or two so the gears arn't so notchy when shifting, but after that, smooth as buttah.

It's not that cold here in Houston and mine started right up but it made a cluncking noise. Anybody has any ideas what it could be?

-14 F ..... started like a champ with no hesitation.... although it took quite a while for the Navi screen to warm up.

Looks like -40 is the lowest so far. Yeah, the leather is NOT comfortable at all in cold weather but the heated seats in Hi did warm up rather quickly.

The console display screen (don't have Navi) did change like molasses. You can see the segments change.

My 3G TL-S was left parked outside in 22F for about 24-36 hours... car was dead as a doornail (crappy Acura batteries).. 4G has been fine so far

However, i wont lie... since its been getting colder out, my 4G has been shifting much, much differently.... its been holding gears a lot longer... to the point where i notice it, and let off the gas hoping it will shift into a higher gear.

i was driving home tonight (20F) and the car was at about 4000RPM , going 35mph in 2nd gear... like i was climbing a hill....

once it warms up, the shifting seems to go back to normal.... its been doing this progressively as the season changed... never had that problem with either of my 3G's or the wife's 2G CL-S

It's 7F this morning. Man it's cold. Thank goodness for garages. Poor 4Runner is stuck outside. Thank goodness for remote car starters!!
