Hi! Calling high mileage 4G TL owners in Seattle area, please!
Hello everyone,
its been a dream 3 month, bought a used '10 TL Tech pkg (V6 3.5) with 97k miles from Hinshaws Acura, now sitting at almost 101k. It's been absolutely awesome.
Now i see A14 service light and my oil life is at 15% but since I am pushing near 105k, might as well do 105k service together.
Info I've gathered that needs replacement/maintenance
-Timing belt/tensioner and water pump
-Valve Adjustment
-Thermostat and coolant flush
anything missing here by the way??
also id like to hear from local TL owners who would like to share how much they paid for the 105k service.
im still torn between Acura dealer, Honda dealer or independent shops.
Hinshaws Acura in Fife, WA where I bought the car, said timing belt and water pump alone is 1477 + tax. That sounds kinda spendy.
any info or advice welcome!!

located in the Seattle area. All those service will be cheaper through Honda and should be oven less through a smaller shop. What I would recommend is getting quotes from a few shops before pulling the trigger. However, the dealership will have a quicker turn around time depending on how busy smaller shops are.
The dealer will also do a multi point inspection on your vehicle if you bring it in for the service. What is needed should be in your owners manual.
If you'd like, I can get a quote on Acura if Lynnwood. I am close with the service manager. I also have a buddy who is a service advisor at Lynnwood Honda.

Lynnwood Honda Quote:
A - is oil change.
1 - is tire rotation.
4 - they do spark plugs, valve adjustment, timing belt, drive belt, auto tensioner and inspect for water pump leaks and oil leaks which would be additional. We charge for all $1653. #4 is $1598 alone. Water pump is $250 additional if leaking.
If you visit my buddy Kyle (service advisor) he said he can plug you with a 15% discount off the entire service. Just let him know you know me (RT).
As for the loaner, he said usually it's either the discount or the loaner but he'll do his best to get you both. If not, loaner fee is $35.
Hope that helps!

I used to take my '06 Honda Odyssey to Auburn City Imports for major maintenance items and I can vouch for their services, not to mention 1/3 cheaper than Honda of Auburn/Sumner. They service Honda and Acura vehicles. My '12 TL is only 55K miles but when the time comes to change the timing belt/water pump I'll definitely give them a call for a quote.
Good luck!
