Replaced Xenon Light

Hi Everyone,
I was curious if anyone out there has replaced a xenon bulb in their 4g TL yet. My drivers side light just went out and I ordered a Honda oem bulb for it. I have double checked the part number to confirm it was the right one. The dealer installed it for me because it was kind of a bear to do.

Anyhow, after I installed it, it works great but I noticed it has a more yellow tint than the one on the passenger side. The other thing I noticed is that when i turn my lights on, both sides start at the same shade but within the next ten seconds it seems like the new bulb is getting warmer and turns yellower and the right one stays the same but still bright white.

So this leaves me with two thoughts.since both bulbs should be oem.
1. Is there a defect in the new bulb?
2. Is it possible that after 7 years the right bulb just doesn't get as bright anymore?

What are your thoughts??

one brand NEW bulb versus a 7 year old bulb.
the 7 year old bulb is obviously losing lumens the more it ages

in general, bulbs are replaced in pairs, because if one went...the other is likely to go out as well..cuz its 7 years old

Agree with Justin, though it's curious that it's the new bulb that is "yellower". Did you get the car new, or is it possible that a previous owner swapped out the headlights for something with higher K? The OEM should be 4300K, which does not really look yellow, except next to something higher. Otherwise, it might be a bad bulb. I'd suggest posting a pic, but it's tough to get light pics that accurately reflect colour,

Since you went through the dealer, make sure the 2nd bulb you buy matches the other one. If not, let them know. I personally would've upgraded to a more crystal white hue from Philips or Sylvania.

Correct, usually you would want to change bulbs in pairs to prevent color mismatches.

Like any d2s bulb, they will start to dim after X amount of hours. However, if you don't want to change the passenger side bulb, you can leave it as-is and bear with the color for about 20-30ish hours until the salts in the bulb breaks in and color shifts. By then, hopefully both bulbs will have the same hue.
