Help w/splash guard installation

Trying to install OEM splash guards on my 2012 TL. Front are done but rears I cant screw them in even with a stubby philips. I installed the bar just fine but the actual guard is too close to the tires and I can't get a short philips in place. My only thought is to remove the wheel/tires. Any other ways? Don't have a torque wrench to torque the wheels to proper spec.

I didn't install the splash guards, but from what you're describing something like this may work?

I had to remove the rear tires to do it. It took 5 minutes.

Here is a thread to my new 2012 TL... It shows the splash guards installed but no real close ups...

Hey all, allow me to piggy back off this thread as I'm also have rear splash guard "fitment" issues to be exact.

As I was trying to install the passenger side rear splash guard, I noticed one of the holes wasn't aligned. It was way off! Here are the pictures of both sides of the rear.

Am I missing something?! I'm following the instructions. Please help.

Driver's side rear is good.

Passenger side rear... wtf?

Here's an overview of the rear splash guards.

Did I get the wrong part?

Shoot, I think I did based on this diagram. The rear guards should not mirror each other like the ones I received!! What a pain in the ass.

I'm guessing Base TL's and SH-AWD TL's have different configurations?

I'm pretty sure they should be the same( base/sh).... If all four of your guards look the same there is a problem!

Well, the fronts mirror each other and so do the rears as you see in my pic above. But looking at that diagram, the rears do not mirror each other.

Could someone please take a quick peek at their rear splash guards and determine if they mirror each other or not??? I'm also waiting back from acurapartsforless.com to see what they're gonna do about this.
