Unhappy HELP - Car is death

I am in some need of wisdom. I am currently travelling and in North Carolina with my TL 2013. While I come from South Florida the change of temperatures have caused weak battery on my car. Three days ago I left the moonroof open and it got rained on inside the car. While I was able to drive my car after this the next day It had issues starting it but it did. Now yesterday It tried to start but it was not able but the battery died. While I was trying to start the car the power push button got locked into on light. I was not able to do anything in the car. A friend tried to jump-start the car but the only thing happened was that the light on the power button went off and it was not making any noises any momre. Today I got a new battery and I connected it and the car still the same. No start no lights no beeps when I press to open car no inside lights is like the car is completely dead.

What could be the issue? A fuse?

I am travelling and I don't want to take this car to a shop unless is something critical. Car was running fine all the time.

Any input highly appreciated.

This doesn't sound like a quick fix by spitballing what you might want to check or what parts you might want to replace (throwing parts at a problem is almost ALWAYS the most expensive solution); given you are on the road, your best, and probably least expensive, option is to get the car to a professional for diagnosis and repair.

You are right I knew my battery was getting weak so that's why I chose to get a new one but now I think problem is more serious now.

Assuming brand new battery is okay - I would check battery cables at both ends (not just the battery terminals) to make sure you have good connections and power flow. I would expect a new battery to at least light up the dashboard and allow lights and radio (assuming you have the code) to turn on.

I double-checked the cables and they look good plus the car was running fine the whole time. I will take another look but yeah nothing is lighting up or any noise or beeps.

Feel along the length of both cables to ensure solid continuity as well. There have been cases where 3G TL owners have experienced "internal corrosion" in the battery cables where they had deteriorated in the middle of the cable and causing electrical issues.
How much rain or how wet did it get in your car? Have you looked at the fuse boxes (inside and under the hood?)

Just finished doing that and all wires look good. Now, this is the 4th gen.. Now when we tried to jump-start the car we made a mistake at first and placed the wrong cables on positive and negative. Since the car has no power whatsoever I think we just might be a blown fuse. Just checked the fuse box on the engine bay and the battery fuse seems is blown. Just took a picture added below.

Upper part seems not connected.

Regarding the 3G or 4G - battery cable are battery cables, so figured it made sense to rule to out.

Hard to tell from the picture but it does make sense in that seemingly no power is getting to the dashboard or anything else.

And not to overstate the obvious, bring that fuse with you for X-referencing and perhaps you can ask them to confirm that it is in fact blown.

Sounds good and you even have the replacement part number # as well. Not sure if it matters, but if it were me replacing the fuse, I would disconnect my brand new battery first, then replace the fuse, then reconnect the battery - just so there is no juice flowing to the fuse anything down stream, but that's me.

Yeah the first step is to disconnect the battery then I pulled the fuse got the part number from that video and called the closest Honda dealer. They had 1 in stock so I ask to secure it I am just waiting for my ride to get it.

Not singing victory yet but we will see.

It's too bad you didn't have power to the radio -

The dealership you are buying the new fuse from might be able to help you out. Maybe you can get the person working at the parts counter to help you out after you do get power to the radio..........?

No need to bring it in; just call Acura customer care; they'll walk you through the procedure of obtaining and entering the code.

If you jump started the car with the power and ground cable in reverse, it is guaranteed that you have blown likely the main fuse and maybe some other small fuses. You need to check all the fuse boxes to make sure battery power can feed to the entire car.

Many years back, I made the same mistake when hooking up my Integra in pitch dark, and the main fuse and an accessory fuse were blown. I was lucky that my PCM computer as well as the other car did not get damaged.

Problem is solved now.. It was the main fuse in the engine bay. 27 bucks at the local Honda dealer. I checked everything on the car and all is working fine thank god.

I always have helped people jump their cars and today just did a brain fart did not verified well and that was the case besides the battery being dead too.

Thanks for the tips guys.

I haven't ever needed to get help with the codes for my family vehicles but was unaware of this option. Mental note made for the future if necessary

A year or so after I got my TL I took it in for some major maintenance, preventative as well as needed; things such as a clutch and suspension stuff; needless to say, when I got back in the car the audio system was coded out. Remembering back to the 1990s when I worked for Mercedes-Benz North America, they had the ability to talk folks through obtaining and entering the code, so I figured what the heck, and gave Acura a call; ten minutes later my code had been reentered (and logged in my wallet), and I was good to go.
