Ground clearance: OEM Underbody spoiler vs. splash guards

Does anyone know whether the OEM spoiler kit has more or less ground clearance than the OEM splash guards? I currently have the splash guards and am dropped on H&R Springs, and will often grind the bottom of the guards going over speed bumps with a passenger (even verrrryyy slowly).

I would like to switch to the OEM underbody spoiler kit but am afraid i will reduce ground clearance even more.

Please tell me you regain a little clearance with the spoiler vs. splash guards.

The splash gaurds are lower.

I installed my tein while i had my splash guards. I was maxed out on the teins and the splash guards would scrape over every speed bump. Now i have the under spoiler kit and I have no problem going over speed bumps.

ive always wanted to put my splash guards on with my lip kit, but sadly it will be way too low for me to drive lol and i have to do some retrofitting to make it work

Splash guards have lower ground clearance than the OEM body kit.

Now with OEM body kit, the front doesn't scrape any more in places where my front splash guards used to scrape upon.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like body kit will actually be an improvement in more ways than one. And like you, I only seem to be scraping the front guards, the back guards obviously must sit up higher.

As everyone has said, the splash guards provide less ground clearance than the OEM spoiler kit. I have modified my splash guards to fit over my OEM spoiler kit and to-date I've only scrapped once. My car is not lowered but it would certainly be a problem if it was!

How did you go about modifying your splash guards to make them fit? I'm planning on buying and installing the under-body kit this summer...and it sure would be nice to have them

Check this thread out:

I will be taking my tires off soon to paint my already rusty calipers so I will update the thread at a later date with better pictures, etc.
