Good Deal or Not for TL FWD with Tech Package

Dallas area pricing.

Edmunds.com True Market Value Pricing $ 37,437 invoice price.
Kelley Blue Book $ 37,437
TrueCar.com < $37,725 (great price).

Quoted: $35,737
Trade In $18,000 ($9900 owed on existing loan). I was expecting to trade in to be at $20,000 but the dealership felt there was a steering issue.

To make up for the $2000 I didn't get on my trade in, the dealer agreed to chrome the base wheels for free ($1,895 value). In addition, the dealer offered me $1,500 in dealer incentive and 1.9% financing for 66 months.

I think I got a pretty good offer. Right?

There's a 2000 incentive for TL w/tech and 1.9% for 60 months.

Aim for invoice - 2000 or lower

For the trade in you can drop by carmax for a free trade in quote, usually dealer will match that.

From those info you should be able to make a good decision!

The 1.9% financing was for 60 months but I chose 66 months at !.9% to get my monthly payment below a particular amount.

Wow, I would think twice about a 66mo payment plan. You need to check out the lot and see how many TL's are on the lot. Most dealers are ready to deal on them if there is a lot full of them. Acura also wants its dealers to sell more cars this year so you should be a little aggressive with your offer. Go in and offer them $36,500 and be willing to wait till the end of the month if you need. Also price your car at other places like others have said you could add a couple of grand to that offer if it is in good shape because they need good used cars right now.

why would ask for $36500 if they are already offering a LOWER price than that...doesn't make sense. He should ask for around $34K and be set on that price...even with the offer the dealer is still making money and moving a car

Ahh..no problem.

I went to a large Northern VA dealer today...there had to be at least 50+ TLs on the lot...the cars are not selling as Acura/Honda expect. Deals are available if you can negotiate and not believe in truecar/edmunds pricing
