Hi folks!
Checking out a 2011 with 40K miles asking $22,000. Miles are higher than I'd prefer, but not a dealbreaker if the price is right. I would try to get this for less than the asking price of course.

Base- no tech/ no AWD etc, not certified pre-owned.
No rear spoiler, stock base wheels (split 5 spokes?).
Carfax checks out fine- one owner, no accidents.
Looks to be very well kept, smoke free.

Regarding the warranty, correct me if I'm wrong here:
4 year/ 40,000 mile limited factory warranty (used up)
6 year/ 70,000 mile powertrain warranty.
Is there a good aftermarket or extended factory warranty or is that a waste? Again this car is not CPO.

I really thought the tech package was important to me, but what does it offer that's a must have?
Milano leather/ EIS stereo, GPS, rearview cam? Keyless start and sideview cam might be 2012 and up, not sure.

Still learning here and appreciate any insight you can provide.
Thanks! John

Keyless start started in 09. Sound system much better than Non tech. The consensus here is to go to the tech. Having said that, the car sounds like a good deal.
In Nov, I found a 2010 tech for just under 25k and 23k miles. Clean carfax, one owner.

Price good but you have to make detailed inspection. Most guys here and me would go with Tech package but it's your choice

Thanks a bunch, I'm looking out of state as well. I do like the idea of all the perks associated with the Tech package.

What's everyone's opinion of customer service loaners?

Ran across a very low mile CPO 2012 Tech that was a loaner. My fear is that the people driving it might drive it like they stole it? Might be an irrational fear, but makes me think of how some people treat rental cars.
Thanks!

Regarding the warranty, correct me if I'm wrong here:
4 year/ 40,000 (50,000, not 40) mile limited factory warranty (used up) (Because of the above, no it's not)
6 year/ 70,000 mile powertrain warranty.
Is there a good aftermarket or extended factory warranty or is that a waste? (My AcuraCare extended warranty has more than paid for itself already and I bought it for 1,650.00; 7yrs/120k miles, 0 deductible. I'd buy it again if given the choice. Edit: which was a great price, but I know where to get it for even cheaper now) Again this car is not CPO.

I really thought the tech package was important to me, but what does it offer that's a must have?
Milano leather/ EIS stereo, GPS, rearview cam? Keyless start and sideview cam might be 2012 (Nope started in 09') and up, not sure.
(I don't know how much seat time you've spent in the car but you'll come to realize that without that rear view camera it's almost impossible to parallel park this car somewhat close to a curb without eating up the wheels because of the blind spots. I also love the better sound system, push to start, and built in GPS is 10000000x > a portable one)

Still learning here and appreciate any insight you can provide.

I'd get a tech before I'd get AWD and I'd get nothing if I could only find a base or wait and save up till I can get one with tech.

well think about it.. how can you really beat a automatic.. you really cant redline it like a manual.. and the only real thing a renter can do to a loaner is all cosmetics.. i.e not wash it, spilled coffee in the interior, scratches.. etc..

loaner cars usually are better taken care of as acura themselves do the maintenance timely at their own facility.. as far as how the motor is.. i wouldn't worry.. now cosmetically.. that is where you have scan throughout the car.. every inch of it.. even the door jams..etc.. for flaws..

i can speak for everyone when i say.. i cannot park without my rear view camera.. i have gotten so used to it that i dont even use my side mirrors anymore..

^^

I can park other cars without a rear view camera (I drive this 1 or more times a month) z350 n, x5, prius, yaris without curbing wheels but those vehicles except for the Z have fewer blind spots than my TL.

It appears to be a good deal but like most everyone else has said I'd go for the Tech or you will end up with regrets down the road.
