With gas prices rising....

I'm still glad I bought the TL

Still had a range of 35 miles, but I was near the gas station by my house so I pulled in right as the trip odometer rolled to 500.

With 80% highway driving I did that, I can't wait to see what 100% highway does for me.

Love my car

Provided you don't mind the constant throbbing of your back, feet, neck, and picking any fillings you have up after they rattle out of your mouth - sure, the Z06 - it's a great $95,000 commuter. 335/40/20 Pierelli 5,000 mile tires are so cheap to replace, and all the cargo space too!

Here is my 08 Type S 6mt after 77 miles on the highway.

Also, no one is going to buy a vette to get good gas mileage

I don't trust those computers....my evo used to tell me I was getting 26 and when I'd do the math at the pump I'd be closer to 22 or 23.

Still getting that good of mpgs with the big V8 is impressive. I couldn't keep my foot out of it though so I'd probably get 15

I had to fill up, but that's 700km on a full tank, fully loaded car, 100% hwy. SH-AWD, with super heavy wheels+snows on too.

How are you guys getting this type of mileage? I can't seem to get anywhere close to that. My car runs an average of 13-14 L/100km, mix if city and highway. Between 9 - 9.5 L/100km straight highway. Mixture of city and highway, i'm not even hitting 500km......my low fuel light came on, and i just filled up this morning, and i had 470km on my tank. Put in 60L..........what's your secrete?

Things you need to know bout the pic in mine:
1. i used US gas, it's actually considerably better than the stuff here in Canada (toronto at least). their Premium is probably the same as our 94, if not better.
2. this was literally 100% hwy, i was on a road trip on my way back from the US.
3. i use 100% synthetic oil, motul to be exact.
4. snow tires were inflated to 35psi

no worries, in the city or mixed driving, my range only states 500km (pretty accurate)
before i switched to synthetic, i was only able to get 400-450.
i commute from markham to dt Toronto everyday. so traffic is pretty bad. city alone i get 15km/100L, mixed i get it down to 14km/100L
100% hwy, i can get it down to 7.x

Keep in mind the picture of the 35+ mpg TL is also on a new tank (17 miles in.) I can take a picture showing nearly 40 mpg with under 20 miles on the tank but it slowly drops back to the 26-27 range which is normal for me, in my car, once I hit a couple red lights.

guys.. do about 300 miles then take a pic.. having only done 60 miles on a tank isnt really determining anything.

my car gets 38 mpg at having done 50 miles on the fwy.. at the end of the tank, i got 24mpg.

The first leg of my current trip to Abilene from York took me 527.7 miles to Spiceland IN, using 18.784 gallons of gas returning 28.09 mpg. My next leg covered 502.2 miles into Springfield MO, using 17.925 gallons of gas returning 28.01 mpg (dropped because I had to get off the freeway twice to find a Wendies, including stopping at one before restarting and hitting a gas station). Heading south from OK city, I stopped in some no-name town to take on 5 gallons (490.4 miles travelled) in order to make it into Abilene with gas to spare. Came within 80 miles of making the 1595 mile trip on only 3 tanks of gas ... although I probably would have been on fumes some 30 - 50 miles out if I would have tried to go all the way (my previous best had me filling up on the east end of Dallas - some 250 miles away ... but I was on my snow tires that time). Hitting 500 miles on a tankful is nothing new for me in this car, and the 30+ mpg reflected in post 3 above has also been seen before ... but usually (as also reflected and stated) shortly after filling. All highway miles, of course.

My problem is the wife and I split the miles in the car. She lead-foots around town, and I do all highway. I would say with confidence, with the cats off - around town MPG is up substantially.

My GoPoint also logs MPG - and is always about 2-3mpg less than what the Acura computer is reading - the numbers on it seem to be more correct.

I know that I could get 450-500 miles on an SH-AWD auto full tank. I've gotten as few as 250/300 driving it hard previously. I'd bet this could be 550-600 if the MAF quirk gets identified / figured out.

Well, that's the advantage of a manual. You decide when to change gears, and you even have one more than the ATs. That might explain a few more mpgs.

gave up on the "try to get the best mileage and save the planet" on my way to work BS. Life is too short to drive like there is a raw egg underfoot. Avg. MPG on the TL is 20. And the Avg. MPG for the RDX is an infamous 15!!!

Unless you are trying to get across the desert, what's the point of owning a sport sedan if you are driving it like 1981 Buick Skylark.

The MT car actually is rated at less MPG than the AT in this case.

I filled up 17 gallons of gas on that fill up, so hand calculated it came out to 29.4mpg. I notice that the computer is all over the place. I've hand calculated the mileage to within a tenth of what the computer got, all the way to being 4mpg off.
I was excited to get 500 miles on the tank. Most of the driving was done on the highway, but the longest commute was no more than 20 miles.
I just thought I'd post the results of that tank since I have seen posts where people express disbelief that other TL owners are getting good mileage.

$60 Bucks? That's it??? Again, in Canada we get screwed....i filled up this morning with 91 octane. 60L cost me friggin $90.00 on the dot. Not only is our gas crap, we send our oil overseas, and pay through the nose....and the us has far better gasoline!

I just bought my FWD TL last week, so I only have 540 miles on it. I'm averaging 23.4 MPG, and that's with 75% on the highway at 70-75 mph. I'm hoping that as I break in the engine more it will increase. I'm afraid I may have to drop to under 70 mph to get some of the amazing MPG some people on here are getting...

I drive speed limit, that's it. If the speed limit is 60, I drive 60. If its 70, I drive 70.

On a 15 mile commute, going 60mph will take 15 minutes roughly, going 70mph will take roughly 13 minutes. I don't think two minutes is worth it to me to speed and get worse mileage, extra wear on my tires, and a possible ticket. But, I will go 70 if that's the speed limit. I'd rather keep traffic flowing then to be the cause of slow downs.

On city streets I try to keep my revs low, try not to get over 3k if I can help it. I've noticed on the 2012 auto that 6th gear will engage after 40mph, so I might speed by 1mph in a 40

I'll put my foot in it occasionally, but its not the way I drive on a regular basis.

Most cruise controls do that. Mine gets worse gas mileage because it downshifts too early when climbing hills.

my '10 SHAWD 6mt is averaging about 20 MPG which is pretty much the same I got in my '05 tl 6mt. I drive 35 miles each way to work, 28 of it on I 95 during rush hour and the rest local streats to get to or from i 95. I have only had the '10 for 8 days and have filled up 3 times in about 1100 miles. I picked the car up in Charleston and drove home to South Florida.

Well let me ask you how much your medical insurance costs up there? That higher gas price helps pay for things that a more socialist type things goverment gives to its people. Down here we pay thousands of dollars a year to pay for medical insurance and deductibles / copays.

Cruise = bad.
Tire pressure = 38/40
Light foot.
Tach under 2k at all times.
Lift early instead of braking in city driving and keep your inertia.

I have not reset my Trip B since I purchased the car and it has an average MPG of 26.1 with 19,750 miles on the car as of this morning. Not horrible considering the 20/29 rating from the mfg.

Same here. With 13k miles, I am 26.4mpg on Trip B. In all honesty, I'm getting just a 1mpg less with the TL than I was getting with my 2005 Accord Sedan 4cyl. There must have been something wrong with the Accord....
