hey guys,

I finally pulled the trigger on a 2009 Base TL this weekend. Black exterior, ebony interior, absolutely love it, many think the black makes the beak stickout, I love the effing beak! And from the back at certain angles, it looks like a freaking batmobile!

I got a couple questions you guys:
1) break in period: anything special you guys do or is the process described in the manual enough?

2) GPS: I know most people have the tech, but maybe from previous cars, what kind of GPS do you guys recommend and the best place to put it? I played around with the Navi on the TL and decided that it was a bit out of my price range.

3) tint: im thinking of either a 30% tint or a UV only tint, what do most people get and why?

4) alarm system: i admit it, i live in a shady neighborhood (imagine the song "Straight out of_____,"), no offense to my neighbors! But is the stock locks good enough or can you guys recommend what you guys got

5) and finally anything else i should consider getting?

PS if anyone is looking for a TL in the Los Angeles/Pasadena area, feel free to PM where I got the car and I would be happy to recommend my dealer, I looked for weeks and I feel like I got a GREAT deal (beat the lowest price around by around $300, no pressure tactics, wanted you out the door asap (in a good way), no games with the financing 2.9%, etc)

 

Congrats!.....although, personally, I think you should have gotten the Tech package to fully enjoy what the 4G is all about (it also adds resale value).

Your next upgrade should be the wheels/tires. The stock 17's are too small for this car.

 

If this is your first car EVER at 25, damn you don't know what you were missing! Way to start off though!! I started off with a Mazda Protege but you jumped right in there with the big boys!

 

For GPS, I would use only Garmin. I have tried Tom Tom and it is not as easy to use at all.

I had limo tint put in on my back 3 windows, and a lighter tint on my side windows.

limo tint might be too dark for me, but I'll see what the tinter thinks! thanks for your opinion

yes sadly this is the first time in my life I'm truly mobile!
