Factory tint

I picked up my 09 SH-AWD TECH certified pre-owned last week and so far have been really enjoying it.

But what I noticed is that it came with a really nice tint already and it seems there is no film applied so I assume it comes from factory like this. The visibility from inside is perfect and from outside you can't see inside too much either. I noticed some people are doing an aftermarket tint so I was curious... was that an available factory option in 09 or something?

Got pics? No Acura from the US come with any tint that you wouldn't be able to see through from outside unless its a CPO or used Acura and the previous owner put on tint

from my experience, with the slight tint that comes on my US 2009 TL Sh-AWD, if i look at it from the right angles, the black interior makes it seem like the tints are really dark.

If the car is parked out in the sun, and you still can't see much of the inside, then it is aftermarket tint.

Mine looks similar to that burgundy 3G with 20%. I didn't get a chance to take the pics before the sun went down so I will post them up tomorrow.

Welcome to the forums.

You live in NY, and Mr. Marco lives in Portland, Oregon, so you wouldn't get much help from him, and in the other thread you don't know where aspecallday lives.

You should go to the NY/NJ Regional Forum for some local references. I'm sure you will get much better replies there. https://acurazine.com/forums/ny-nj-320/

I have noticed this phenomenom. Good thing this doesn't happen in the Black Market.

Or does it?

I though my tint was factory so I used a screwdriver to see if I could scratch the tint. I do have aftermarket tint and a big gouge mark in my window. But at least I know for sure now!
