Eyecatching
Even though I've gotten my car last year (probably the first SH-AWD sold in Illinois), I still get looks eveywhere I go......while it seems most are approving, there are some that appears to border on disgust.....can't please everybody.

People, as well as myself, see lots of not so good looking cars that never get a second look, everyone cries ugly yet no matter how many times they see the TL their eyes are glued and necks break, consistantly. That is the difference between a radical, never been done before design that just needs more time to assimilate vs a truly bad one. More attention means more critisizm, there are plenty of other premium luxury cars much more well received that don't actually look better they are just blander with not much to say or look at in either case. Everyone is entitled but then I remember most of these are the same people who hated the design of several cars when they first came out a few years ago and now would rarely admit that they even said that, since those cars have now become so mainstream.
I have to admit, when I first saw the new TL, I didn't like it. I really hated it.
I took my TL-S in for service, and there sat a new Anthracite Metallic? TL on the showroom floor. I opened the door and sat in it. I LOVE the interior design. I pushed buttons and flipped switches for about 30 minutes. Salesmen probably thought I was crazy because I was all the car. I stood and looked at the exterior for a while. It looks WAY better in person. In pictures, the TL appears to have a weird profile. The point on the front of the car sticks out further than the real corners (which you cannot tell in pictures) and makes it look like it has really long overhangs. When you look at it in person, it has a way better look that a camera could only dream of catching. When I was done, I accidently shut the door with more force than necessary. I took one step away, turned around and opened the door again. This time I shut it harder. I really love the sound it makes when you shut the door. It sounds and feels so solid, full of quality.
I've only seen 1 TL on the road. I spotted it from about 500 feet away. It was in the on-coming lane. You bet your ass I stared at it. Even after it passed I was looking in my side mirror. lol Just ask the Mazda MX-5 I almost rear-ended.

This evening a young couple walked past as I was getting out of my car. The young man said "nice car - can I look inside?" I said sure, his response was "that is a sweet car". We all know some people don't like the looks, but the car definitely gets attention.

It's rapidly growing on me...the points that people complain about can and will be modified shortly. That car, lowered, tinted...with something done to the front grill...is a badass car no matter how you slice the cake. And I HATED it when I saw it at the auto show and when I bought my stepdad's 3g and he leased a new 4g.
I'm giving it time. I know the SH-AWD will probably be my next car in the next few years. Just gotta catch that old man turning in his 2010 Mayan Bronze lease!

Yeah, I've noticed a lot of looks over recent weeks. I have also begun to see more TL's on the road. I know everytime I see a TL, in the sea of BMW's, it catches my eye!

I was checking one out yesterday and thought...if you just had that center piece where the acura logo sits, painted to match the body...the outlined silver piece would somewhat resemble a 3G front...I think it may be nice. Anyone else do this?
