Can anyone tell me what type of speakers come in the 2012 TL SH-AWD? Does it come with Bose speakers? Also, do they come in dealerships with the wood trim on the steering wheel and shift knob or is that something you have to get customized after? Thanks for your help!

The speakers aren't a certain brand name and th ewood wheel and shifter is an accessory add-on.

Acura-branded ELS. Which blows most name brands (Harmon/Kardon, Bose especially) out of the water. From my experience, Bose speakers are decent at best and Harmon/Kardon are flat and muffled.

^ i can def vouch for that ....my 06 TL had the ELS system in it ..........when i got the 11 it took me a while to adjust to the system quality difference since i got the base model 4TH GEN .............which while not as good as the ELS system ...still sound better than what i have heard from some of the competitors ....

Here's the way it seems to go in LA in my area by number of cars spotted by me:

Lexus IS 250
Mercedes E series
BMW's of all types
Acura TL's
Audi's of different types
Not too many Genesis sedans or coupes

I was truly surprised by the number of 4G TL's. There are a lot of them. Figured there would be a lot of Genesis sedans. Astonished by the number of IS 250's. The most popular car by far.

That is exactly what pushed me to go for my 2011 6MT, and here in northern Virginia, while I wouldn't call it an explosion of 4G models, I'm seeing more of them.

I drove through Georgetown/Book Hill area of DC this Saturday and saw a whopping 2 4G TL's - and one was in the parking garage where I had parked (same exact car as mine, except a year or two newer - how funny is that?)

I'm in LA and haven't seen a new model on the road yet - which kind of surprises me as we are big fans of rhinoplasty out here. I rarely see any 4G models on the road at all. I do see a lot of 2G and 3G models though. It looks like up until the 4G model, the TL was a popular car in LA.

I've had a few calls and e-mails from Acura dealerships and they've been showing the new model off for a while.

lol. The valley is a more practical place. You must be on WLA. I haven't seen a 2012 yet but I keep thinking the TSX is it until I look more closely. Lots of TSX's in the valley.

Here in Toluca Lake I've seen 3 4G TL's.

I do see a few TSX's but not much in the way of 4G TLs. I would imagine the cooled seats would be a welcome addition for people in the valley wanting an Acura.

I bought my TL in early February and since then I've only seen three 4G TLs. 2 on the road both SH-AWD, 1 in my parking structure at work a base model. Like many have said, I find it refreshing driving
a car that you rarely see on the road.

You haven't run across me yet then, I picked up a 2012 TL Tech SH-AWD 6MT in Graphite about a month ago. Jay Wolfe claimed it was the first one they had sold, at the time...

I saw 6, 6 other TL's. 4 base and 2 AWD while heading into work. Then I saw 2 more, one red pearl(painted grill) and one Grigio (painted grille) when I got near where I park, nuts, 8 in one day.

I'm 20miles north of Manhattan, right by the NJ border and I've seen a ton in the past month, even one of the managers at my job got a FWD Base TL recently. Even today on the road, I seen no less than 5....even my girlfriend noticed and pointed them out to me as I drove past them

here in hawaii, you dont see many 4g's around. if you do see them, it'll be the regular ones, & not the sh awd. so many earlier generation ones around.

If I remember correctly, the ELS system is designed and manufactured by Panasonic.
