While driving my 13 TL MT today, I got a EPS error code 61 and my power steering locked up. I see there is a TSB for it.

First time I‘ve had this happen since I bought the car and have 142k on it.

Dealer said they will charge to inspect but will waive if it applies to the TSB. Anyone run into this issue and had problems with dealer not covering it? It is now working ok after the car has been turned if for 10 minutes.

 

I had a bunch of flashing lights and got the module replaced for the EPS, did not work after a restart and the steering was super heavy around the same mileage as you. I have a 13 Auto model. Also have them check for any recalls such as for the airbags!

 

My lights were not flashing when the error message came on. I did read in the TSB if it was flashing they would cover. If not flashing, would I be on the hook for repairs? Thanks.

 

If correct TSB is displayed below & you have code 61-04 and the EPS indicator 'comes on steady' then you should be in link flint?
