Engine Splash Shield?

We have a 2014 TL. My wife loves to pull all the way into a parking spot until she hits the curb. The result is a crack in what I think is called the Engine Splash Shield?
Can this be safely removed and discarded? Does it need to be replaced? If so, any recommendations on where I can find one? Cost? Thank you.

Most of the time these are attached using the typical Honda plastic clips, which you can pop out with an OEM tool or flathead screwdriver. As for replacing it, not everyone agrees they are essential but personally I've always believed they were there for a reason. So if it were me I would replace it.

you can buy one new from your local dealer or an online dealer, or try to find one used in eBay or a junkyard.

Thanks for the quick replies. Princelybug, that link you provided isn't working. Typo?

That part number seems to be incorrect, or at least have been replaced by another part.
According to this OEM parts website the parts are the same for the base & SH-AWD.
Base (item 6): FRONT FENDERS for 2014 Acura TL
SH-AWD (Item 6): FRONT FENDERS for 2014 Acura TL.

I changed mine on an older TL. It's a little frustrating for one person to install because its large but it's doable. Put car on jack stands in the front and take both front wheels off. I HIGHLY recommend replacing all the push-pins (items 17 & 18). Some of them will break when you remove them.

Also, put the part in the sun for a while to warm it up and "soften" it a little. The plastic material is very rigid when it's cool/cold. This makes maneuvering it into place easier.

You're very welcome. And ALWAYS blame car damage on the wife.

pb blaster on the clips makes removal very easy!

Take this as an opportunity to change your Trans fluid and oil if you need to!
