Door Locks weird behavior? ('12 TL Base)

In the last week, I've had the following issues (all intermittent):

Car won't unlock with key fob. (Have to use key to get in - car starts normally.)
Car will lock but not arm anti-theft.
Car will only lock some doors.
Car won't unlock to let me out when I pull the handle. (Have to manually flip switch first.)
Car will try to lock all the doors every time I pull away from a stop light/sign.

No door open lights, codes, CEL, or other problems. Sometimes opening/closing the door will get the car to behave for a while. I've duplicated the problem(s) with both fobs and replaced their batteries.

I'm an IT guy, not a mechanic, but it "feels" like what a "computer" would do if it didn't know whether the doors were locked or not (or was getting bad info from a sensor.) But I don't even know if there is such a sensor - or if it's integrated with something bigger and more expensive like the BCM.

Should I take this to a dealership or do you think my normal mechanic could fix it? Is this a common problem?

it could be a bad hood latch or door sensor making the system think something is open/unlocked.
