Does your trunk open automatically?

I have a base 2010 TL. When I open my trunk with my remote, it pops open, and hovers about 3 inches above the closed position. Is this typical? I ask because other cars I have driven tend to open all the way.

Thanks!

no it doesn't. Another little thing acura didn't do correctly. Acura intentionally misses the little things in order to cut costs, otherwise i don't think they could compete w/ other brands price wise.

I think they did it just right. Think of inclement weather. Would you want your trunk popping all the way open when its raining? or even windy so all your crap blows all over the place.

At least it opens more than the 3g - that trunk lid was so heavy it would pretty much shut again on you when you popped it open with the remote. At this point with 4 years of trunks that don't open all the way I've gotten used to it. (3 w/ 3G, 1 w/ 4G) Don't know if it's done by design....

Its not like you'd pop your trunk then sit in your car for awhile. The moment you pop your trunk you know you're going to grab stuff and go.

Since all 3 of acuras SUV's open all the way automatically (with 2 being powered lift gates) should they "fix" the "problem" by removing that feature? get real!

Im as real as they come. A lift gate on an SUV is not the same as a trunk lid no matter what you think. It takes a slight lift with your finger to open the trunk lid, but takes some effort to open a lift gate. Also, if you havent noticed, the lift gate is larger and covers a greater surface area almost like a canopy when opened which prevents insides from getting wet.

But your right, you and techno should write to Acura everyday, yours about the trunk lid and his about folding seats

Write acura? what are you talking about?

btw you talked about wind right? well wind would surely blow all your stuff around in an suv where the trunk opens all the way. We wouldn't want that would we? Why don't you tell acura that their suv's should only open a bit?

but.. hey acura is doing fine right? everything they do is perfect in your eyes so they never need to change a thing! in fact why not just stop making mmc's and fmc's for the TL? this one's perfect! /sarcasm

My gf's A5's trunk opens all the way and it's extremely convenient when your hands are full so you don't need to put things down to open the trunk after already popping open the trunk.

I should have just gotten a ZDX.

Well I wouldnt say theyre doing EVERYTHING is perfect. I could use an increase in power, cooled seats, and better search function for ipod and usb.

i'd like coooled seats as well. probably the one thing I'd actually trade my TL (and take a large loss) for in the case the next TL (or other moderately affordable luxury car) has it.

Cooled seats are one of those features I would pay a ridiculous amount for. The RL has it.
