Does "Pull Ahead" lease program really exist?

I am trying to buy an 09 TL AWD with Tech package. Currently leasing a 2006 RL with 3 payments to go.

Was at a Cleveland area dealer yesterday and they told me to call about a "pull ahead" program where Acura handles the final 3 payments of your lease.

Anyone heard of this? Is this true?

Please let me me know. Thanks.

With the economy as it is, I wouldn't be surprised. Car dealers these days are taking a beating. If they would do it, go for it!

Acura has done a 'Pull Ahead" program in the past. We currently don't have one in our zone (western) but it is very possible that your dealer's zone is running one.

They offered to pay my last 3 lease payment on a 4G TL. My guess they would do it for you. The last 3 months of residual on a 3G changes less than $100.00. You can look it up on your online American Honda Finance acct.

If the dealer will skip the turn in fee, waive the wear and tear on your car, and take care of mile overage, do it!

I have leased 3 TL's and on each one was able to get out of the lease 3 months early with Acura picking up the payments. Don't know if it is a regular program or something each dealer does on an individual basis to get you to upgrade. It doesn't hurt to ask especially as the times are now.

I called Honda Financia and they told it is only available on certain models with specific lease maturity dates. Of couse, my car is not one of them.

If the dealer makes the final 3 lease payments, don't they just add that to the cost of the new car I am getting from them?

They shouldn't and if they do I would complain profusely. However, if it is greater than a 3 month span on payments then your point might be valid.

As I said, the Pull Ahead program is regional and (as they noted) sometimes model specific. But it is real and a good deal if you qualify.
