Differential Fluid
Hi Yall
I have 13 Acura TL TYPE SH AWD Adv. package.
Acura recommends to use this type of fluid.
will this work just as good?

Under no circumstances should the VTM-4 be used in the SH-AWD differential. VTM-4 works with a completely different principle than SH-AWD. If you want to save money, use ATF Z1 or substitutes like .

Go to the dealer. It's about $10 a quart for the differential and you need about 2 and a half quarts per drain.
The Hypoid gear oil for the transfer case is double or triple the price, luckily you need very little of that and less frequent change.

Are you sure about the GL4 being ok for the transfer case??
Any 75W80 or 75W90 or 80W90 GL5 would be fine. Idk about GL4 since its a hypoid gear.
Pro tip. Redline GL5 is fantastic stuff...but so smelly that you may pass out. It smelled up the garage and somehow the entire HOUSE while filling the T-case. It then stank thru the T-case vent and into the cabin when I drove. I dumped it and replaced it with the super thin factory stuff.
probs go with some 75w90 next time.
