As some of you here on Acurazine may know, I traded in a 2009 Lexus IS 250 AWD at 4000 miles for the 2010 TL 6MT.

The Lexus was the biggest financial mistake I ever made.

The IS was a POS and the most uncomfortable car ever. My brother's old Geo Metro is more comfortable than the IS.

ClubLexus, meh.

I don't own a TL anymore. I just traded it in for a 2010 BMW 535ix. I just like this forum so I stick around and read and once in a blue moon start a useless thread

Any early comments of the 535ix? How does it compare to the TL after having for a little while?

I have only had this car for 8 days now. The 535ix has better low rpm power and torque and the driving dynamics so far are very very close to the TL(yes it may be hard to believe). The one thing I was surprised with is how much quieter the 535ix is on the highway even with the runflats that are loud. Road noise is something Acura needs to address. The biggest difference is in the cabin itself. Simply put the interior fit and finish of the 535ix is heads and shoulders better than the TL, and it should be for a $52000 car. The 20 way power seats are awesome and the leather is of much better quality or it seems so with the naked eye.

If you are looking for performance only, the TL will be every bit as equal to the 535ix other than acceleration and torque. I don't see much difference in the twisties and cornering. If one puts a premium on both performance and luxury, the 535ix is the car. With the alcantara suede headliner to the beautiful bamboo wood, and the Logic7 sound system which is a smidgen better than the ELS. But you do have to pay a premium price for it.

The only camera I have is a Nikon DSLR which at the moment my brother in law is borrowing and is in Australia for a family wedding. I do have a droid which takes decent pics and try to take some once this weather here clears up.

I only lost $500 dollars on the trade. I bought the TL used and paid $31500. So this helped immensly. Now if I had bought new I would have lost close to $8000 since most people pay around $39000 for it new.
