Comparison to MB E300 4matic

Hey Y'all, just a useless comment.
My father leased a 2014 E300 4matic. With the various options this is a $64,000 car. The e300 has a v6 with 280 hp.

I just want to point out a few differences between the MB and my Acura 2011 Sh-awd tech.

The MB is not a fast car. The engine response is a bit jerky when you want to accelerate faster and it doesn't pull that hard at. My TL feels a lot faster.l

The MB also has odd things with the technology package that annoy. People always pick on the TL how you have to press enter, and audio every time you start the car and want to see the audio screen. It's the same with the MB. You to press a button to get it out of eco mode, and you have to push a button to get rid of the around car view, and you have to push another button to get put it in sport mode. My point is other cars have little niggles with the technology that aren't quite perfect ergo-dynamics.

The gas pedal the on the MB feels super stiff and you feel like you have to push really hard just to keep it up at a steady speed.

I will give MB this. The e300 is super quiet and then suspension soaks up the bumps really nicely, yet it feels flat on corners.

Over all since my TL in Canada costs $15,000 less than the MB, I think Acura did a super job. Basically the two difference are the TL is faster and not quite as quiet.

You are comparing apples to oranges here. They are two totally different cars. Acura has many more issues with their brand than MB. Acura doing a good job is relative to your perspective and experience with the brand.

It's like comparing the TL with the RLX.

The MB E-class is a RLX-vehicle-class premium sedan, whereas the TL is a C-class premium sedan.

I hear what you guys are saying. Yeah yeah, the E class is in a different class. I know as a Mercedes it’s got more brand value due to the badge.
However basically the E class and the TL are almost the same size, inside and out. They both have a V6. They both have AWD.
You would think for the extra $15,000 you would have some sort of panacea with unbelievable speed and no problems or annoyances.
But that’s not the case. I was just pointing out that there are still some problems with the E Class, and there are several areas where our TL is actually better (speed and cornering).

that's because they are in a different class.

the TL is a sporty machine, whereas the E-Class is a luxury cruiser.

The TL is BUILT for SPEED and CORNERING, while the E-Class is built more for comfort with a luxurious feel.

So, it's unfair to compare the two because one is an apple and the other is an orange.
