Climate control question
This question may seem weird so bear with me...
Preface:
One feature I have always liked about BMWs was the cold-hot thumbwheel on the dashboard. This would allow one to adjust the temperature of the upper vents independently of the main temp control. So you could have a good warm feet - cooler head effect going. BMW included the feature supposedly to offset driver fatigue.
As the TL has dual mode climate control I am wondering if you can do the following as a substitute (in manual mode).
Set the drives side to the floor (heat setting)
Set the passenger side to vent (A/C setting)
Aim the center passenger vent towards the driver
I tried to do myself during a test drive but with the salesman breathing down my neck I didn't have the time!
Thanks,
Keith

I don't believe you can do this on the TL, but it's a nice feature. My '92 Legend had this as did some older Hondas we owned.

You can set the air flow for both driver and passenger using the "mode" button. You can select floor only for only for the driver side and dash vents only for the passenger side and then select the appropriate temperature setting. I guess you could even direct the passenger dash flow toward the driver. Does that answer some or all of your questions?

You're not going to get exactly want you want and if you have a passenger with you they are going to be getting exactly the opposite effect from what you're tryi g to get for you! You only have temperature control on the left and right side of the interior. Then withe the upper vents, you have some control of where to direct airflow. That's about it.
