Changes over the years

Sorry if this is a question that has been answer. I tried a search and turned up nothing.

I have found a 2010 SHAWD and 2 2012 SHAWD for sale in my area. Besides the body work (grill) are there any mechanical, electrical, performance changes over the years of the TL, specifically the SHAWD model.

Am I just paying the extra money for a later model with aesthetic differences or am I actually getting a better stereo, different rear end, ect ect.

Any help finding some sort of list of differences and changes over the years would be helpful.

Thank you.

2010 TL (AWD included) only has the 5-speed auto tranny.

2012+ TL (AWD included) has the new 6-speed auto tranny, slightly better sound insulation, battery monitor system, and an Advance trim model with 19" wheels, ventilation front seats and BSI.

In addition, I believe the NAV screen is of higher resolution.

So I take it from these responses the 2012 is worth the extra 10k in cost?

Cross shopping with Lexus right now trying to find the best performance/luxury balance without killing me too harshly at the pump.

Thanks for the input so far

If you have reservation about going to the pump often, then you should skip the AWD trim/option, because AWD and fuel economy don't mix.

Guess I should quantify "killing me at the pump". I want more than 15 city/24 highway. TL seems to be over that, I don't have a heavy foot 98% of the time. Occasional civics and "on" ramps is where I go all out.

My 09 AWD TL used to get around 20MPG around town more suburban driving and 24MPG HWY. So I would expect the 12+ with an extra gear to up that by 1MPG. Considering the drive train loss of SH-AWD it is impressive as my M37S get around 21 around town in same driving and has 7 gears and no AWD. If I drive it in Sport mode I usually loose about 1MPG.

Hey buddy, nothing comes free.

The Infiniti 3.7L-V6 generates 330hp, a whooping 25hp more than the Acura 3.7L-V6. Thus the lesser fuel economy.

In fact, I don't mind losing a couple MPG's to trade for 25 more hp in my 4G TL.

I agree its kind of crazy but Acura made allot of hidden changes I seem to fell on the 13. Just drove one extensavly and here are some observations compared to my 2012.

-NOOO sunroof rattles at all. Mine rattled like crazy when open at all and even closed at times. Problem was never able to be solved on my 2012 or 2011 tech fwd.

-The rear view mirror has no on or off button and does not light up.

-My 2012 had off and on vibrations between 65-80 miles per hour on the highway and so did other 2012 awds I drove. The 13 is smooth as glass with no vibrations.

-The seat bolstering was so much nicer in the 2013 I had it was way less center bolstered feeling compared to my 2012.

-The steering felt better (may be a mental thing) but it felt like more feedback a little more weight with no dead center feel like my 2012.

-No Rattles (Again I am well aware these can develop with time).

-All around it felt like the the best 4g I have driven yet.
