OK this morning my mom turned on my car and put my heater on. So I get on the car, and my XM + Best of Sirius is gone (still have nav/traffic though), all my radio presets are gone, all of my address book is deleted, and my entire HDD is erased. My question to you is, is there some kind of soft reset that my mother POSSIBLY could have done to do all this??? By soft reset, I mean like holding in one or more buttons for a certain amount of time to reset all settings. Anybody experience this before??

Certain things were not deleted, like my seat positions and (I think) my MID options such as locks opening when shifting to park.

Very weird that my XM + Best of Sirius is gone, but NOT traffic and weather. Could XM have done this, ya think?? I wouldn't put anything past them at this point.

 

are you on a free trial basis with xm now?

Check the owner book - radio section- to see if there is a master reset like that

Of course there may be a short in the electrical system- call corp and report it

There is a Clearing the HDD section on page 341-342 of the manual, so it is possible that someone could erase the HDD rather easily. Odd that XM went away? Go to channel zero on XM to get your radio ID and call in to reactivate your radio. I don't think XM could delete the HDD. Well that's what you get for having mommy do stuff for you. JK.

 

Sorry guys, was at work so I couldn't respond or read the book. When I got in the car tonight though, everything was back. VERY strange. 45 minute car ride to work with no XM/Sirius, HDD, or address book. Even my wallpapers were gone. It only had ACURA and GALAXY. When it came back on though, it did something to my MID, adding OIL LIFE 60% to it, which I don't think was there before. Could be wrong though, but I don't remember seeing it. Not gonna call service unless something like it happens again, but there definitely is A LOT of weird technical glitches with this car (ie my driver's side window auto rolling down by itself, this, XM nonsense, etc etc). Somewhat surprised at it all. Anyway, thanks for the replies, as always.

 

maybe your mom used key 2 to start your car? That would account for some of what your talking about.

 

Oh my good lord. You're absolutely right!!!!!!!!! That's exactly what happened bro. Still doesn't explain XM disappearing, but that could have just been a coincidence. In the end it did come back. But it definitely explains all the different settings. Thanks A MILLION for pointing this out to me, as it's bound to happen again.
