Bubbling/popping sound in engine

Has anyone heard what sounds like a bubbling/popping sound coming from the engine bay? Any idea what it might be?

more than likely a bad automatic trans filter; common issue esp when it's cold.

Check TSB 14-049 - Gurgle or Chirp from Under Hood at Cold Start-Up in the technical service bulletins area: https://acurazine.com/forums/fourth-...letins-945428/

I need to get this done on my 2013 TL. Just need to find the time to get it to the dealer. Those damn 55 hour workweeks....

Acura dealership wanted to charge me $300 to do this TSB. So I walked over to the parts department, bought the filter for like $30 and then the Honda transmission fluid. My mechanic charged me $40 to do it. Cost less than half what Acura wanted.

Shoot, I was under the impression that this would be done free of charge. Surprise, surprise!

If you have a good relationship with your dealer they may do it as a favor; most folks don't get them done without some sort of previous connection with the dealer.

Around 2 years back my 2012 TL had exact same issue. With some efforts I was able to replace this filter myself. Only special tool I needed was a long bent nose pliers.
My old filter was completely choked. So it's a good idea to replace filter as soon as possible.
