Had a weird sound coming from the engine compartment this morning. I live in Minnesota and it's getting cold here in the mornings. It almost sounded like a diesel on idle. I had it happend once before. Anybody else had this happend?. It"s a 2004 Touring with 47000 miles on it. It only happens when the engine is cold. Thanks for any info on this. F1

 

Does it sound like a misfire?

 

It's obviously hard to explain sounds but i will try. It sounds exactly like a VW diesel at idle. I was thinking purge solenoid or something like that. I would say it does not sound like a misfire. It happens only when engine is cold once it warms up a little you wont hear the sound. Might have to bring it to the dealer for this. Thanks for getting back 55. F1

 

Check your oil

 

I just changed it last saturday. I will check it again. Thanks

 

Oil is up where it should be. This is hard to diagnose over the net i just wanted to know if anybody else have ran in to this. I will take it to dealer if this keep happening. Thanks
