Blacking out the Grill

I am looking to black out the grill on my TL, but am unsure of which way to go. I have come to understand that my two options are most likely doing a vinyl wrap or spraying it. I am planning to use plasti dip on my wheels to black them out as well, but I am not certain if that would be the best option for the grill. I want to color match it with the rest of my car color which is crystal black pearl but I know that plasti dip does not have many different color options to choose from. I am assuming an enamel paint is the other way to go. Please help me out with any suggestions or tips on how you did yours. Thanks!

The only way you're going to get it colour matched is to have it professionally painted with CBP.

What would you assume the closest match would be if I did it myself? Enamel paint or plasti dip?

Best option for time and cost is just vinyl wrap it with gloss black. It's close enough and no one can notice a difference when you are driving.

Was it difficult to wrap it with all of the corners and edges?

Honestly I didn't do it myself. I got a place to do it while they were also tinting my windows. Got a good deal and they also wrapped the trim under the trunk. But I did wrap my taillights and couldn't see it being harder than they were. You can remove it but I've seen people do it without removal.

Imo you should either paint it crystal black pearl or don't paint at all. The wrap is great because it's cheap and easily removable. Also good that generic gloss black is an acceptably close match for CBP.

I recently wrapped all of the chrome trim on my 14' CBP TL - I think it was 18 pieces in total. Window trim and badges took the longest. I purchased 100' of 3M gloss black 2080 2" wide roll from Amazon and a 5'x1' sheet to do trunk insert, front grille, and rear window pieces. Picked up a Wagner heat gun, pack of straight blade razor blades, and wrap gloves. Also - needed isopropyl alcohol to wipe down pieces for clean contact and a couple wrapping squeegees. First time wrapping - lots of youtube videos and patience: took about 20 hours total, but super happy with result. Have had some pieces on for 6 months and color still looks great. Very close match to the crystal black. Did the entire car for around $150 for wrap, heat gun, and accessories.
