I appreciate all the inputs though. Looking forward to the car arriving next week.
Congrats! What matters most is what YOU are happy with in the long run, glad you are thinking sensibly and i'm sure you absolutely can't wait to get the car! Enjoy it

I still have the stock Michelin tires on (which are not that great ) but the sh-awd is pretty darn good in the snow... and not to mention, fun. Get it sideways and you'll be sliding like a rwd car drifting in the parking lot .

Anyways I don't remember how much of a difference the FWD TL was, but if you're worried about gas mileage. DO NOT PICK UP THE SH-AWD. I only do city driving which gets ME @ 12mpg-15mpg.

Love it though, I take my car everywhere.. Even if friends offer to drive me.. =] =] =]

Oops sorry. Skimmed through it and missed what OP said. Hope to see pictures soon!

KC had no snow last winter, but we got dumped on this year. Back to back 12 inch snowfalls less than a week apart.

I am here in Sunny California (not today) and enjoy nice weather. I was in similar situation like yourself where SH-AWD is really necessary or just go with FWD (coming from 2003 Honda Accord V6). Well....... No doubt SH-AWD is simply best but you will suffer with gas and maintenance. FWD will get you slight better gas mileage. All-in-all knowing myself, I went with SH-AWD and have absolutely no regret!!!! So much fun to drive despite 17-18MPG average. Again I suggest AWD.... Hope this helps you out.

If you have a "cooldown" period (hope that's what it called) go back to dealer and trade for sh-awd

The car's a 2012 with 31,000 miles. I bought it with 2... Haha, I'm pretty sure it's well past any cool down period. Unless my dealer's super generous! But alas, my next car is 100% gonna be AWD. Can't beat it. Might not be a TL though, I'm looking at you, fully loaded ZDX.
