Baby Seats

Hey fellow dads, what are you guys all rocking for baby seats? I just picked up my first Recaro, shame it wasn't for me!

Recaro Performance Ride (Canadian Model)

This thing was much larger than I thought it would be, but the TL rear seat can accommodate it. I wouldn't recommend buying this model for anything smaller than the TL.

using a chicco keyfit 30 for now but also have a Graco 4Ever on standby as he's almost too tall for the keyfit 30; the keyfit 30 fit is a bit tight since I installed it directly behind the drivers seat.

Got the Recaro ProRIDE for my 2 year old:

Rear facing is a bitch! Looking forward to switching to forward facing.

And Chico Keyfit 30 for the 9 month old.

There's actually more room front to back in the TL than my wife's Pilot.

I have a Recaro pro ride for my 2 year old, moved him forward facing about a month ago.

My 7 month old will be in a Recaro in a couple months. I even got my sis in law on board with getting Recaro's for her kids and she was a Britax user.

I almost went with the Britax Click Connect which was a nice seat but since the seat will never be leaving my TL it seemed pointless to pay so much for a feature that makes the seat easy to remove and install.

I'm eagerly awaiting the first ride in the TL with this new seat but the weather has been poor so my TL has been sitting idle for over a week and a half...it probably wont even start when I go to use it.

I also have Recaro car seats (black one for TL and pink one for wife's Ody). I don't remember which model they are but they do not face the rear and are good up to 120 lbs. I'll be in the market in a few months for a convertible car seat and plan to go with Recaro again.

I am looking into Britax ClickTight, because the technology allows for 'idiot-proof' installation.
My question would be, did anyone install the seat in 'center' position ? presumably this is the safest spot !

I had my Graco for my first son installed in the middle. It was the click N Connect type.

The Recaro was never in the middle.

FYI - California Only

In the interest of public safety the CHP gives away free child car seats for free.

They will exchange it for your old, worn out/out dated one at no charge. All you need to do is ask for it. They will even install it for you to ensure that it's installed properly.

Please contact your local CHP Area Office and ask to speak with the Public Information Officer for specifics.
