Just got my tranny fluid and filter changed today because it was making the gurgling sound. Dealership wanted $300 to do it hahaha. Went over to the parts department, bought the parts (and fluid) for $100 and my mechanic did the job for $57.60.

Anyways it made a very noticeable difference. Its shifting so good now, not that there were any problems before but it just feels so excellent now. My old tranny fluid only had 18,000 km on it. Maybe the filter made a difference?

^ Good call. I doubt it was the filter though. I'm convinced that the fluid takes more of a beating than people might think - on the molecular level that is, not contamination alone. The filter is good, but I'd bet the fluid is the key. New fluid is going to replenish the additives and lubricating properties that the old fluid is beginning to loose. Partially anyways, since you're only replacing about 40% of the fluid by doing a drain/refill. But if the existing fluid is near the end of it's lifespan, that 40% is going to help quite a bit.
