The balck brakes that say Acura not only look better, but they wont show the corrosion on teh outside metal that make the autos look terrible after a short period of time (in new england at least)

And do not forget the stiffer suspension (supposedly) on the 6MT TL. The moral is, buy the manual.

Moreace, why do you want the auto? Have you ever driven a manual? I didn't learn until I was nearly 40, but I wouldn't buy an auto now. Especially the 2004 TL after test driving it.

At least its not BMW where you have to pay out the wazoo for an automatic option. Quite honestly you will lose a little with automatic, but the tradeoff is worth it for those who want the convenience of automatic. But to say it "comes up short" is a misnomer or the words of someone who needs to feel they have an edge over other drivers.

I am 21
no I can't drive manual
all cars in family are auto
I am lazy
I do mostly city (Boston) driving so I wouldn't want the hassle
tried manual once and jerked the car back amd forth violently til it stalled
I am now banned from that car and I don't even thing I was able to make it move
Anyways auto is for me, but I would like the Acura brake pads that will not show corrosion and LSD seems good for safety........ unless I really don't know what it is (lots of snow here)
I am NOT a performace junky
stiffer suspension is not for me

Moreace-
Could you explain the brake pad difference to ignorant me. Which model (MT or AT) has the ones that will not show the corrosion and why is this (non-corrosion) so?
Thanks!

I pretty dumb, so I will say what I mean and let everyone else correct me

What I am refering to is when you look through the rims of almost any car you can see the outside of the calipers. They are metal and in New England they look very rustic very quick. IS300, Corvettes, looks like crap of you ask me, I hate it. Some people paint theirs. When you look at the pics of the manual or the brembros though the rims, the caliper are not metal, they are black and have the word "Acura" engraved in white. Not only does this look better, but it wont show that ugly rust/ corrosion on the basic metal ones seen on the automatic. Anyone understand what I am saying or can elaborate more clearly or just think I am completely nuts?

I doubt if you are dumb and anybody can learn how to drive a manual tranny. I never knew what I was missing. I love my Vigor with a 5MT. It is my 4th Acura (the other 3 were all new and they had autos). My wife actually taught me how to drive the 5MT, she learned on a old Porche. Her first car (really her dad's), how lucky.

Moreace, thanks, I get it now, although too bad it is not the other way around (painted calipers on the AT) as I think I have to go the AT way. I remember as a teen talking my dad into MT on his Civic and my mom saying "I'll never drive it". "Sure you will" we said. She never did. Now my wife says the same thing. Fool me once...
BTW - what does LSD stand for (as you can see, I'm the "pretty dumb" one really)

Limited slip differential
from my basic knowledge it is a feature that transfers power to another wheel when the drive wheel begins to slip
