Anyone on here take the orange reflector out of their headlight?
I have a 2012 TL I've seen someone take their reflector out of their 09 TL but the headlights are a little bit different. Might just be they are all silver or chrome but not 100% since I have taken neither apart. Going to put matching switchbacks in there as to match the bumper drl.
1. Does anyone know what temperature to bake them in the oven?
2. Will that peice come out easy?
3. What adhesive bond shall I use to seal the headlight back up properly?
Real advice from someone will experience doing this only please.

The inconvenient truth
That video pretty much sums it up but you should really scrape out all the old glue and reseal them using new Morimoto headlight butl. Not reuse the old glue. The seal is pretty important. You can find it at the retrofit source.

Advanced
I did it here:
https://acurazine.com/forums/fourth-...hbeams-987197/
It's pretty straight forward. 300 degrees for 10 minutes or until you can pry the housing and lens apart. Once the lens is off it'll be really obvious, just a couple screws to remove the orange reflector. I didn't use new sealant and never had issues with condensation.

Yo you guys rock!
Been trying to go all white with the lights. Would it be worth buying a set of used 09-11 headlights since they are all silver or chrome internals? My 4G is silver so might look more elegant like it does on the white 4Gs. The 2012 has the silver and chrome but has alot of black in it as well. Any suggestions to spice it up?

first color a cop has never messed with me haha
Gunmetal would be sweet.
I'm really torn on accent colors right now. I left all the chrome the silver just makes it pop.
White is my favorite of the 4g's but I waited long enough for Bae haha
I feel like because the 2012-2014 already have black in them I should do something different but my gut is telling me to go all black accents on the car. Dealing it a little.
So far all my money went to the engine and performance. Stock wheels still super sleeper.
Even wrapped them in all season bridgestone turanza serenity plus 99v they grip like a mf in the rain.
black just might be the all around best, gunmetal would be neat if your wheels were too!
I stay parked in the garage or car port so my lenses stay clean beside highway pebble marks.

Morrimotto said 265 for 7 minutes on thier glue instructions so that's what I did and it was super easy. Broke nothing. I also took everything off the headlights before heating them up. All the wires and everything even the soft metals and screws. The Morrimotto glue is black which is sweet but oem is gray and looks kinda silly but you will have to use new glue because using the old glue it's old and you want a good seal. don't keep my hood open so it's okay If the 2 colors look silly. I didn't have the patience for getting all the old off and out. You'll easily melt the headlights if you try baking them over and over imo.
Also taking the reflectors out may be illegal but I'll never get in trouble for it but could be bad or a driver with bad eye sight and late at night. I do not like now that the reflectors are out that the led bulbs I put in make an uneven glare on the ground. That's why I don't us my high beams often even though my new leds are crazy also that's why I don't want the jewel eyes either. I just like smooth lighting I would love dual protection like KK's crasy headlights 😍. Even with cree bulbs the glare is uneven due to the chrome plated bowl they are in.
I may cut out a larger whole in there to run another set of switchbacks and splice them to my drl parking lights. I ordered another set but might be to lazy to get around to it haha.
I also left the solos alone the 2012-2014 are already black I and the projector fancy things are a silver metallic flake already they look crazy up close.
All in all thanks guys much appreciated.
If anyone reads this and wants to do it I suggest just smoking the orange reflectors then putting them back inside the headlight.

I went with a gloss black. I Also did a metallic silver on the prices that are in there as an accent. I almoat left it alone but I was already in there. Be super careful doing this and if you don't have the Morrimotto butyl I just make sure you don't take any butyl off the headlights. Preheat your oven to 275 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Take the ballist for the HID off. Then whatever you feel you want off. I took all the screws and metal of mine but some don't and it was fine.
just be careful not to exceed 300 degrees for more than 8-10 minutes and don't let it touch any metal in there as well as keep it away from the elements! High on rack.
when you do this make sure you do not touch the inside of the lens and do not try to wipe it or clean if at all or you will ruin it. Keep it away from any dusty areas you'll be so angry to have to do it all again because hair or lent got in there. the orange reflectors I took out because yuck just use switchbacks. The light is not smooth if you take them out but if they bring these back we will be all set!
