Are you for real. I guess I will keep on driving my 09TL TECH with 4500 km.

Acura you bad boys

You should have seen that coming. How would they even attempt to sell / lease that car with 4500km without taking a hit and also when you drive a new car off the lot, it depreciates instantly by 22%.
There's a "Do you regret not buying the AWD version" thread.

Yes , but look what the price they offer you for a demo. less than few thousand dollars

I understand they give him a price to not have it, because they are not interested to have to sale this car, because they have so many in their parking brand new

Hi guys ,

I just went for an oil change on my 2007 Tl and I did a quick drive test with an AWD 2009. Nice , I liked the feeling .. more solid.. anyway, we crunch some numbers and what I got from first round(no negotiation at all) was -3500 from MRSP and -0.25% from financing rate (brand loyalty) . They offer me 25K+tx on 2007 (I have a balance 20K left) ..
it come down 1000$/month for 48 months (2.65%). I'm sure I could do better ( how much more ,I don't know) . If anybody else have better numbers , please let us know.

I considered the same situation but with my 06 TL.

But after the momentary impulsive excitement of potentially getting a new car, reality had set in.

You will be taking a huge financial hit.

Let's assume you buy the new TL and do keep it until you pay it off. You would have paid the summation of:

1. $5000 (equity from your 07 TL) + whatever additional downpayment you
decide to add.

2. (48 months x $y) where y represents your monthly payments assuming
you go with 48 months financing on your new TL.

3. The total cost of your 07 TL
(downpayment of that + (z months x $w) minus $5000.
Where z represents the # of months you financed and w representing
your monthly payments.

Part 3 is what kills you so it is up to you.

If I made a mistake with my calculations then someone feel free to correct me. =p

Hi again ,

Sebounet ,my TL has only 24000 Km. I know , I know I'll get a big hit . I'm a IT guy and I'm working very close with our company financial department , I learned myself few things , bu for me I'm looking more from montly cash flow perspective. On 48 month I'll pay less by month (< 1000 , with a real negotiation) which is a little bit less than I'm paying now for my 2007 TL (1100/month on 36 months , 1,9% financing).

I'm just fulling around with the idea , because of the new financing rates . A month ago I wouldn't even thinking to that at 7.9 % , how much Honda financing was charging.

The thing is that definetely , I liked the feeling of the new TL AWD.
I wouldn't do it if only FWD were to chose.

TML you're perfectly right , I know , but for me I consider the car a permanent expense by month and if I can get new car inside of same cash flow I'm ok.

Well for me, I have other expenses in life and I want to save up for other better things =).

You don't have to consider the car payments a monthly and PERMANENT expense depending on where you allocate your money.

3 weeks ago I was considering pulling the trigger on an 09 AWD Tech via trade in and lease and the dealership was constantly focusing on the monthly payments and was telling me just to focus on it too!

But I couldn't. Maybe you shouldn't too?

The new car itch then wore off for me and I'm counting down the months (till November) that I have left to pay off my car and then I'll be free from car payments.

I also pay $1100 a month and originally had a 36 month finance term.

*********************

I love the new 09 TL AWD but one of the questions I asked myself about this: "trade in for a new car thing" was, do I really want to stick with Acura?

I am not sure if it is true that Acura dealerships will always offer you more for your car than another name brand dealership but I mean, there's other cars out there too that I had to question whether or not I wanted to do this with Acura again.

I would have considered a BMW 328 coupe or a G37x coupe but oh well no more thoughts of a new car for now. =)

TML , I understand very well your point of vue. When I was saying that the car is a permanent expense for me within my cash flow , I meant to say that I can afford also other better things on same time.

I was thinking to G37x also , but new TL interior is more nicer for me (I like gadgets..) and the interior is a deal breaker. BMW 3 series doesn't appeal me (too small) , maybe 5 series but that is out of my cash flow. You see I'm know my limits.

I don't know , it was just an impulse or maybe not , I may try a real negotiation to see what I can realy get ans then I'll make a decision. Somebody was saying that could be better deals on May ( maybe 0.9 % financing) , we will see , anyway it's not any rush.

i agree with you about g37 interior, but having one now , and honestly it's not so bad. you should rteally drive one and you'll see how the car handle and how fast is it compare to TL
