Another Lease Thread
I know there are TONS of lease threads here, but i have my own question i'm hoping some of the experts here can weigh in on. Dealership is offering 429+ tax/month with 924 drive off (first payment, DMV fees, documentation, etc.) for a 15k mileage per year, 3 year lease for a 2012 TL Tech Auto. Sounds good to me, am i missing something?

That's a stellar deal! Slightly better than my lease terms for the same thing minus the tech. I just signed my lease two weeks ago. They caught me in naive mode because my car broke down and I needed a new one that very same day. I say go for it!

My brother has the 10 FWD, I was ready to pull the trigger on one and drove the SH-AWD and it's not even a fair comparison- walked away with it that day...drive with a light foot (and follow a tractor or two on the highway) and you'll be able to justify the gas mileage difference

I have only tried the FWD model and I love it. Both the SHAWD and FWD are great cars but the FWD suits most people just fine. And suspension is a little more comfortable. I can make turns at high speeds just fine under normal driving conditions and it has great power along with an excellent braking system. When it snows, I'll have to be careful but I am anyways as I have only owned FWD cars. It is ultimately up to you but the FWD is good value for the money.

My reasons for doing so were wheel spin. I don't race around, but I do push the gas to get up to speed. 280HP is a decent chunk in FWD. You "may" notice spin when making 90 degree turns especially from a stop. Acceleration from a light even with light rain will cause spin. I know this is pretty obvious stuff, but as I said it's what made me trade it for the AWD. I wanted an affordable luxury car and having the front wheels spin when I wasn't trying to race around is a little embarrassing in a luxury car. There are other perks to the AWD, but no need to mention.
The FWD is still a great car, and if you are more of a casual driver it will do the job just fine. Even when I mention about the spin the car corrects itself quick and well. I would still be driving it, but I got an awesome deal on an AWD that I couldn't pass up. I truly think it is worth the extra money and if a dealer has a '12 AWD left on the lot you can score an excellent deal. I actually got my AWD for cheaper than I paid for my FWD (11months later)!
Did you find an AWD model near you? Did you get any price quotes? What is your driving style like...if you have any other questions, i'd be glad to help. Good luck!

So correction to my original post, the dealer is quoting me the 429 for a 2013 now, as they are out of 2012's. I have found a few dealers locally with the AWD, but the quotes are 515+ per month. I'm going in tomorrow to test drive and hopefully walk away with a black or white TL Tech.

That's a bit of a difference in price between the FWD and the AWD.
Capco said he got 465 for a '12 awd. Test drice both the fwd and awd. If you like the awd and are willing to pay a bit more try for around 490ish. The difference between the 2 is usually only 3-3.5k so 515 would be a bit steep.
Have you thought about waiting to see the new TLX? I sorta wish I knew they were doing away with the TL before I pulled the trigger, but I should have figured a 5g was coming soon.
Have fun with the test drive!

OP....You are getting a good deal for a lease HOWEVER, the 2013 TL will be the last year of the TL as the 2014 model will be the TLX likely coming out in the fall. Are you sure you want to begin leasing a car when its at the end of its life cycle? Given how much the Accord as improved in terms of features and design, this bodes well for the TLX. If I were you, I'd wait until the spring and see the TLX concept/spy shots and see if this will be something better. If, at that time, you feel the current TL design tickles your fancy, then you can get a much better deal on the 2013 MY. That is just my thinking ....

Thought about waiting for the TLX, but if i had to spend another day in my 99 Nissan Sentra with 150K miles on it , i may go postal on family, friends, and strangers. As another poster wrote, by the time my lease is over i could slip into a TLX or be happy with the TL and just buy the car at the end. Anyway, just got back from the dealership. Drove the FWD and AWD and I definitely get why people were pushing for the AWD, but decided to stick with the plan and got the FWD with 20% tint and the clear coat/leather protection package. Final total with tax is 488 per month. Very pleased, will post a pic once the tint is on. Thanks everyone for your advice/help, happy to be one of the gang!

Nice!!! I was the same way. I had a 2009 loaner TL for two days. I wanted my baby back! It was only supposed to be one day but the vender screwed up the clear bra...dealer noticed a minor defect and he had to come back the 2nd day and do it over but I am glad it was done right even though I was very impatient! Welcome to the club!

Good deal, but I got $374/mo with $1200 down, less than 1% interest rate for the FWD version. Don't need the gas guzzler and I'm not earnhart on the roads, plenty of power for me. Congrats either way! I haven't seen anyone beat this deal yet.

You need to ask for those values and then you can run it through this calculator to see if you're getting a good deal or not.

On a side note, I would never put $4,000 down on a car, especially on a lease.

Ditto, and Most mfgs like Acura include GAP in the lease so you are best served that way should the car ever get totaled. I am all about 100% financing and GAP this way if something happens you are not out any $$$
