Anomaly observed with TL rear differential fluid change

I just did the majority part of a "B16" service for my '13. This is the second oil change and the fist rear diff fluid change for this car. I purchased the car new with roughly 3 miles on the ODO. Everything went smooth and well with the exception of the initial rear differential fluid coming out of the car being light yellowish just like fresh motor oil... I thought the car is suppose to use DPSF and that should be light pink (per what went into the car).

Does the car come with a break-in pre-fill for the rear diff? Does anybody with post '11 remember if that is what happened to you? Hopefully it is not a Monday or Friday built car where somebody added...to...

Thanks!

Your 2013 TL came from the factory with Acura All-Wheel Drive Fluid (DPSF). The fluid is clear in color. Acura part number: 08200-9007A.

Hummm... The part number matches, these bottles were purchased from a dealer's parts dep and they were sealed... Wondering why these fluid have a pink tint while the original fluid does not...

All 4 bottles I have are light pink, am I having a weird batch?

My last diff change (2-3 weeks ago), the fluid had a light brown color. What you described sounds normal.

Sorry about the light condition. The fluid in the tube shows that it has a pink-ish tint. It is not red or pink like the transmission fluid... but it is def not clear nor yellow like the motor oil.

Here is some additional information:

Excerpt from TSB 10-029 - 2011 TL: TQI and New Model Service Information:

NEW MODEL INFORMATION

New Automatic Transmission Fluid
A new automatic transmission fluid is used starting in
2011 models. ATF DW-1 is the new automatic
transmission fluid that helps improve low temperature
performance. Do not use any other transmission fluid
n 2011 models.

New AWD Differential Fluid
A new differential fluid is used in all 2011 SH-AWD
models. Acura All-Wheel Drive Fluid (DPSF)
replaces ATF-Z1 as the recommended rear differential
fluid. Acura All-Wheel Drive Fluid is designed
specifically for the tough conditions in the AWD
assembly.

Acura All-Wheel Drive Fluid (DPSF) is a caramel color,
not pink like the previously used A/T fluid. The rear
differential case is also stamped with the letters DPSF,
not ATF.

NOTE: The stamping was a running change and some
early production vehicles have ATF stamped on the
case. Use only Acura All-Wheel Drive Fluid (DPSF) in
these vehicles.

Here is the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) for Honda part number 08200-9007 and Acura part number 08200-9007A from Honda's system:
https://www.3eonline.com/ImageServer...a165c873ff.pdf

Under section 9. Physical and chemical properties, the color is listed as red.

Not sure why you guys keep telling him what to put in the rear diff.

OP: Rear diff comes with a yellowey orange fluid from the factory for break in. Smells like peach juice. This is normal. Don't stress out. Put DPSF (as, for some reason, everyone has been posting pictures of) in and call it a day.

Thanks everybody, I felt a lot better after seeing the video from another recent thread named "Got a "6" in your service code? Here's how to change your diff fluid." The video shows the fluid does have the pinkish tint, and is almost identical to what I have observed.

I can now sleep better :-)
