Hi i just got some niche milan 20" wheels and want to upgrade the brakes/rotors. I was looking at the acurazine brake packages and not sure if i should get the package with the stainless steel brake lines or not. Any info if these are a must would be great. Also you guys prefer slotted or slotted/drilled for the look? Thanks!

I would go with slotted personally. I've had stoptech rotors and pads for awhile and love them.

Did you get the brake lines done as well or no?

i didn't... I just got the excelerate stoptech blanks and ceramic pads... they have been great, a nice upgrade... I don't think slotted or dimpled rotors do much for a daily driver than looks.. but if you track it or drive extremely hard maybe there is a reason beyond looks

I bought the brake package about a year or so ago from Xlr8 as well. I bought the blanks, ceramic pads, and steel lines. They're essentially all you need. My next set of rotors are gonna be slotted, I've read up on both types and it seems that drilled are more prone to cracking than slotted are.

SS lines worth it? Better brake feel?

They're overkill on a daily driver IMO and have more maintenance associated with them.

The concept is the stainless lines won't expand as much when you push the brake pedal. So when fluid pushes through the walls of the lines don't expand just that little bit that rubber ones do.

I have them in my S2000 and actually think we introduced a leak/bubble somewhere up in there. Personally I've been impressed with the TL's stock setup. Unless you're going BBK I'd keep it simple.

most stock lines are rubber and upgrading to SS provides a firmer feel. I'd honestly hold off on them until the car is a little older bc the factory ones are fairly good.

I would suggest slotted front rotors only. Using slotted rears will make you eat though pads very quickly. Slots add more bite to the brake pad (even if you use the same pad, different rotor) and help with cooling and removing debris and helps remove water during rain.

Don't do cross-drilled, they add very little performance benefit but have a ton of headaches with cracking rotors.

I would highly recommend Racing Brake rotors (some of the best in the industry) and also Racing Brake ET300 or ET500 pads.

I would (personally) stick with known brands like StopTech -

I'm sure there's a vendor up there for them.

The stainless steel lines help stiffen up pedal feel and aren't as prone to deterioration over time. The blank package is great for daily driving and includes pads and rotors for all four corners at a great price. I would avoid slotted or drilled if you are just daily driving the car. The slots add dust, and the drilled holes are more prone to cracking.
