Well thats messed up. Comprehensive insurance claim. Upgrade to some 18's or 19's.
Does the 4G alarm have a shock sensor? Or is it like the 3G and only sets off if the doors are opened without the remote or key? IOW - maybe the alarm is not supposed to go off in this case.

Sorry to hear the news. I'm surprised these are on the theft list already. The alarm is only going to sound if they open the doors so it really isn't useful for the rims. I saw on the news how the thieves figure out the perfect height of block to use. They drive up, throw the blocks under the car, let the air out of the tires and presto no jacks needed. And forget about the factory wheel locks those are easy to come by. Every mechanic from Sears to Acura has a set for all of them. Now I may actually change mine to a harder to find wheel lock type, if possible. How did they damage the front bumper? With jacks or blocks? Did you have the 18"s or 19"s?

Sorry to hear that man. On my 2G TL-S, I did have to install a shock sensor to the factory alarm. Back then HID theft was pretty high.
Well, if you see a FWD TL rolling around on 18" stockies in your area, he could be a possible suspect.
I agree with Bearcat, this is a good time to upgrade to aftermarkets or 19".

Thanks for all the support guys
The car is a lease so I didnt want to do any upgrades for now until it's over if i decide to keep it etc..
I have to confirm whether the locks were there or not, but as post above said chances are they got through locks pretty easily, considering the job seemed very porfessional on this.... :\

You have to click the "Your Account" Link on the upper left of the page.
Then, from the frame on the left choose "Edit Options". On the Options page, about 1/3 of the way down is check box for "Enable Private Messaging" - make sure that box is checked. Then choose "Save Changes" at the bottom of that page.

Three Wheelin'
I find it odd that theives would want to steal 18" rims from a car that's barely been out in the market. The bolt pattern on these are not very typical and I don't think it will fit on anything other than another 4G TL.

From one NYer to another, soooo sorry man. Occupational hazards of this joint, if you know what I mean.
I didn't see an answer to the wheel locks question though. Were there wheel locks on it? Also, was it parked on the street or in a driveway?
Last year, the kid down the block from me got his Crossfire stolen off my street. The next week he bought a last gen CTS, and a few days later a drunk driver was driving down my street and slammed it. Talk about luck lol. He did chase after her and catch her though, and called the cops.

Thanks guys, the car is at the dealership now, and I have few options soon but I need your advice. Apparently the car didn't come with the stock "LOCKS" even And now I can do
1) Stock tires/rims again + purchase stock locks (around $200?)
or
2) Stock tires/rims again + purchase my own LOCKS (Any suggestions?)
or
3) Ask them to put steel rims (guess no sensors for tire pressures?) so less chance of being stolen.
Thanks !

Hi,
Can you let me know where to get these? Autozone? This car is a lease so what'ever extra alarm feature i put in, I hope is interchangeable?
Please let me know what wheel locks or alarm feature you recommend installing. And do you think I should just get stock wheels/rims again but without locks again?

Stock 19's with OE/McGard locks.
There dealer really should've thrown in the locks when you purchased.

I can't get 19s, it's 18s that comes with the car and it's a lease so I'll just get it replaced with 18s. As for stock locks, i have no idea why it wasn't included and i wasn't offered it either. Should I file a formal complaint??

Both TL's I've bought had it listed on the Window as a "Dealer Installed Option", but they never acted like I had to pay for it. IOW - we negotiated from standard MSRP, not including the "Pro Pack".
Could be they are not doing this with the 4G yet due to it being new in the market.
Google McGard to see if you can buy them elsewhere for less. I think Summit Racing carrys McGard locks.

A wheel lock won't do anything but slow them down, maybe enough make them think there's an easier mark somewhere else.
If they REALLY want your wheels, they'll get 'em.

Is there any better solutions then that's affordable ? If I get the stock rims again, can you link me to some alarms that I can install myself ?

gorilla wheel locks are some of the best out there... the OEM ones can be opened very easily. Also with a bit of searching, you might be able to source some Mcguard Ultra wheel locks which are only sold in europe

Hi,
Thanks, so I guess I'm going with the STOCK RIMS again, no one thinks I should just go with steel rims?
As for the wheel locks, in the Queens NYC area where can I get better ones if I don't buy the stock wheel locks from dealership?
Thanks

I am so sorry to hear that you're going through this. If it's a lease vehicle, I would just go with the stock rims.

Believe it or not, my car came with locks on the car, and the dealer gave me an extra set.
Acura2009, you want em? Just pay for shipping and they're all yours. Or if you want to pick them up, you can meet me at work in Mill Basin, Brooklyn, by Kings Plaza.
