To answer your question Onyekwere:
My TL is 5 1/2 years old. I have to change my oil once a year per the owner's manual instructions before the MM tells me to because I only drive it 3000 a year. I reset the oil monitor back to 100% per the instructions also in the owner's manual (no special device required). Since new, I have had only one service code pop up. It was for changing the rear diff. fluid over two years ago. I change my brake fluid every 3 years, also per the manual. It is the only service on the car that is not mileage based.
I have asked Acura for a written service schedule, and they didn't refuse, but they simple said there isn't one to give. Just follow the MM.
I like my car a lot. All I have to do is change the oil. Per Acura's instructions, as well as the dealership people telling me to just follow the MM, I never have to work on my car. Once a year oil change and I am golden.....per Acura.

Thank you all for your commentary on my little experiment, but all good things must come to an end.
I finally reached the 1 qt down mark. Mileage was 4,537 miles. Not nearly what I thought it was going to be, but much better than 1 qt per 2K miles that it was. I guess a better than 50% reduction in consumption is significant.
Over this mileage, I have noticed no difference in gas mileage in comparison with the 5W-20 synthetic I was using. Motor minder is at 50%. I will be changing the oil at 5K and trying another run of Castrol Edge 0W-40 for the summer months and see how the oil consumption compares.
I have found the engine to be exceptionally quiet and smooth with the Castrol, but I really had no complaints with the 5W-20.

Everything I read about this product is that it thickens the oil but provides zero anti-wear or anti-friction properties like the engine oil that it is supposedly supplementing.
You use this product based on the marketing language printed on the container?

OP, You (or anyone else here) perform any type of oil analysis and have numbers for comparisons?
Just got into an '09 TL Sh-awd coming from a most recent boosted Integra where I've used Rotella T6 (0w-40) but that was a completely different engine setup / configuration. Rotella was chosen because of the oil analysis results from another boosted setup.
For what it's worth (and from personal experience) Mobil 1 sucked on my ls/vtec and turbo setup (Honda/Acura).
Keeping an eye on this thread, thanks.

Rotella is a very heavy oil but to each its own i never had a car that burned oil from any of my 3 acura legend to my TL to my 08 TL Type s to MDX to my 4G awd 6MT not even my ford explorer sport track (Beater))))

If I can say one thing, it would be none of my stock cars burned oil (Honda/VW/Mazda). Once the heavy engine modifications began, I started noticing it more.
Just wanted to be prepared with this one.

I have to stop u right there i guarantee u that ur vw burned oil i can bank on it lol

VW's engines are POS and they do say it's normal to burn 1 qt per 1000 miles...this is why i will never buy a Benz auddi vw bmw VW or any german Junks

I didn't give you enough info to generalize the whole lineup of VWs like that. I didn't specify the age, model, mileage etc. Not that it matters but the car was a 2.5 L (brand new when purchased) with no issues at the time of ownership.
If I had mentioned a GTI ( 1.8/2.0 T FSI/TSI or any of their boosted motors ) then.. fair game. However, this is neither the time or place.
Consider this, I've been in this game for ~15 years. I've torn down and re-built many motors (mainly Hondas - D/B series ). I've boosted three of my own cars and street tuned on my own. I've had (and still do) access to a shop whenever I need it. My brother's owned a shop and a close friend owns a VW/BMW shop for several years.
One thing I do and do well is keep track of the data of vehicles maintenance / performance over the time of ownership. So if I say none of my stock cars have burned oil ( just as you have ) then better believe it.
I'm not here to bicker which company makes the best motors / engines, I frankly don't care as I have nothing to gain from it. We're on this board for a reason, we share the love for a particular platform.
OP, have you tried using liquid molly additive? Not sure if I've missed it. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Aside from going to product sponsored seminars, what your friend's friends say, and working at an auto parts store for 15 years .. do you have any factual information or proof about what oils or additives work best?
You're stating "facts" with 0 proof other than word of mouth or what's on label.
4G owners with oil consumption issues: You want proof?
Send your oil out for analysis to see what kind of levels of wear metal, whether if there's silicon, or any other additives present in the oil and come back and post your results.
It'll give you a much more accurate representation of how your oil is protecting your engine.

Proof is here everyday when i have people calling me asking me for lucas and asking me for parts for german cars with low miles asking for calve seals and piston rings or liquid molly because their bmw is burning alot of oil or when they call me saying that a 2011 M5 in the morning while staring up throws a cloud of blue smoke with less then 20k...And after using the liquid molly its goes away thats proof ...

I'm not really referring to Liquid Molly, or whether if German cars burn oil. Part of that's true, but you're still laying down huge blanket statements with a problem with too many angles.
I'm choosing not to participate in that debate with you.
My point is, I don't care how long you've worked at an Autoparts store ... you have 0 proof of what oil works best for the J37.
I'm not an oil expert by anymeans, but if we had some type of data showing how the J37 is using specific synthetic or dino oils, that would be the proof needed to identify the heavy wear items and what additives or oil weights would be most effective to address the heavy oil consumption issue.
CLICK: Blackstone Labs
Example: Here's an oil analysis a 1.3L rotory motor: Includes oil grade, viscosity, change interval.
For $25.00, this place will take your old oil and give you a breakdown of engine wear.
Any more stories you want to tell me to prove me wrong?

The fact you read the back of a label and used a little Lucas oil stabilizer & different oil doesn't make you an oil specialist.
I'm done here.

Second, you do oil samples on different types of cars & trucks - how many of those were 4G J37s between 2009-2014?
Go figure, there are many weights & grades of oils meant for specific engines but you don't seem to understand that. Were you recommending Castrol GTX 5W20 in the E60 BMW M5 because it works wonders in your car?
I think those 11 types of oil & chemicals got to your head and did a number on your reasoning.

I'm way ahead of you, brother:
Here is my first OA with dealer's fill:
Here's my second after first Pennzoil Ultra fill.
I've got Ultra in now and I've been topping off with Platinum. I'm debating whether I switch to Edge or just use this other jug of Platinum I bought on sale.

Keep the 4G community posted, data like this is valuable and shows how oil protects against various wear items. I don't need to tell you that, I just want 4GSTFU-AWD to take note - he might learn a thing or two.
Any idea when you'll send off your next sample? What's your current mileage?
Anybody with notable oil consumption send off any oil samples to Black-Stone?
