Acura 2009 TL FWD, Stakenut/Center Nut Missing

I just noticed a difference between my front and rear wheels after i installed winter tires. I have only had the car few months. Its the center nut that is misting on both my rear wheels. I am not sure what this nut does as the wheel is held by the lug nuts.

Is this an issue, did this fall off or is it normal not to have it.

Any guidance will be helpful as I am little panicked after wife said I had not lug nuts !!

Its not just the nut missing but the cavity for the rear wheels is empty like a cup ? What it welded or friction/interfearance fitted on, I have no idea and that it just fell off

Since the car is front wheel drive it only has axle nuts in the front hence the reason why there isn't any nuts on the back because it doesn't have rear axles like the awd model

THanks, I just did not happen to notice and it looks a little odd. I guess covered by alloy where covers but not winter steel rims.

Try this. I'm not kidding. Get a few plastic caps from spray paint cans or other aerosol products. Find one that fits snug over the center of your wheels. Stick them on the wheels to keep the salt and sand out.
You don't have any serious problem there as others stated above.
Live and learn. As Yogi Berra said, you can observe a lot just by watching.
