About relocating the front license plate

Does anyone know how to do so other than drilling into the bumper? I asked about tow hooking it but the seller said they do not make it for 4g TL because the bumper is at an angle.

I had explored various options in acquiring a tow hook for mounting my front plate but never found one for a 2012 TL.....I just drilled the hole in the bumper

How much is a no front plate ticket? I just removed and put my front plate on again today to see how the holes are made and saw how bad they butcher the front bumper when they drill the holes. Not gonna lie, I teared a little. At this point for me not to run a front plate would require either a new bumper or serious work on they existing one.

well in general... if you already have pre-drilled holes on your 2012.. then keep the license plate and bracket on.. it will look ugly without it.

if you have a 2009-2011 then you have option to take it off without any scratches as it comes with bumper plugs.

I wish I had the link, because I saw a member with a 12' TL that had very small color matched bumper plugs - after he removed his front plate and holder/bracket.

Acura just uses screws to hold the plate on the front bumper of the 12'+ TL, right from the factory.

So the holes are very small compared to the 09'-11' bumper holes. I still think Acura should supply plugs for all the TL's.

There are some aftermarket plugs out there for the MMC TL.

have you seen the show n go plate holders? I've never seen one in person, but there are a lot of videos of them on youtube. here is one on a 3G TL.

this might work if your goal is to hide the plate..and depending on how you mount it, you could possible also have it mounted off to the side?

personally.. i'd rather just take the front plate off and have the front end clean.

I like that, but I believe you need to have a front plat when the car is stationary or is it when it's in motion? My concern is if you need to have the front plate on when stationary is that that device looks fragile and if a car backs into it, it'll damage it.

you need plates for both stationary and in motion.. you can get a ticket for it just being parked. i have gotten one before and it sucks. Here i socal when parking enforcement is around at night, they will give you a parking ticket plus a no front license plate ticket of city permits the parking enforcement to do so.

i find that hide away plate useless, serves no purpose to me.. if a cop sees you have no plate and suddenly you do have one..not only your going to get the no plate ticket it will only increase your odds of getting tickets for other things just because you are being a smart ass.
