The EPA ratings on a 3.7L 310HP v6 with AWD will be 17/25 at best.
I can't imagine TL sales increasing with such horrible gas mileage, and not to mention the TL will be much more expensive than the G35x, and new G35x is around $34,000, who knows how a SH-AWD TL will cost. I'd imagine $38,000K or so would be an appropriate guess.

So any ideas what the Tech package brings?
I'd hate to loose all the standard features of the current TL to nickel and diming.
I really liked the NAV or No NAV option of the TL.
Looking at the current Tech package I hope the new TL doesn't go that route.

UPDATE 20:06 We've just been informed (from another source) that the TL will be the first vehicle to get SH-AWD with a 6-speed manual transmission, but the 6MT version won't be available until the 2010 model year. The rest of the information seems pretty solid for the moment.

what about a dual cluch gear box...?
the Audi S5 already go it, 7 speed.
I'd prefer it to the 6MT...

I'm curious to see what mpg the sh-awd post!
with the current RL w/ sh-awd getting epa rated 16/24 mpg (which sounds more like real world 08 Accord V6 stats) I don't expect the TL sh-awd to sell like hot cakes (except for northern snowy states maybe)

Do you know if it will have other tech goodies. I am really hoping for adaptive cruise control and even better the "stop and go" version that works when you are in a traffic jam (It has an advanced/auto braking).
Any additional specs would be great!

Dave04TL I probably wont use adaptive cruise control if it has it, I like to be in control of the car. I would feel safer that way. YoungCeo If that car is the right price I may skip gettin a 2006 TL and aim for a 09 after it depreciates a lil bit. I currently own a 2G TL. Anything over $32k for a 09 is just absurd, and it better be at least 30mpg "city" lol, gas is just outrageous. It would be nice if these things could be rear wheel drive with 50/50 weight distribution

When the G37 Sedan is released, I think it will be close. I used to be a Maxima fan (had a 96 & 99), then went for the TL when released in 04. Since then we liked it so much we have bought two more :-), but the fleet is aging 04, 04, & 05.
If the G37 Sedan is as nice as the coupe it will be a tough call.

infiniti/nissan likes to cut corners on its cars, just gook at the leather seats in the g35's, it has a fake rubbery feel, and wont hold up as well as the leather in acuras. Overall the acura tl is a better built car then the g35/37, infinitis/nissans have never been as well built as acuras/hondas

I think that those are pretty decent options. It definitely won't be the leader in it's field but will be a viable alternative. It's smart to offer the different options. The tech package in the 09 TSX is amazing! It blows away that ELS I have in my 05 TL. It would be highway robbery for us if the TL offered it as standard (I would love that) on the new TL. So it makes sense that it's optional. The current ELS we have will probably carry over, keeping in mind that it's a pretty decent system.

You guys will be in for a big surprise when you'll see how outrageously over-priced these TLs will sell for.
Unfortunately the price for almost all new vehicles has risen across the board, cars that I feel should be $25,000 are $29,000~$30,000.
Take for example the price of the New TSX,
2009 TSX 6-Speed Manual
Total as Configured:$36,154.60*
MSRP:$28,960.00
Destination:$760.00
Selected Interior Accessories**
Installation costs not included in price
Interior Trim Kit$235.00
Sport Leather Steering Wheel$530.00
Steering Wheel Trim$132.00
Selected Exterior Accessories**
Installation costs not included in price
Spoiler, Front Underbody$779.00
Spoiler, Rear Underbody$670.00
Spoiler, Side Underbody$505.00
Spoiler, Deck Lid$434.00
Wheel Locks$55.0018"
Ebony-Look Alloy Wheels$2,224.00
Acura Specified Tires$870.60
This does not include a tech package either, maybe with these options you could get it for $35,000, but look how rediculously priced it is, let's not forget the TL will be coming with a larger motor and more standard options.
I'm guessing a base TL will start at $34,000 with no options, and probably $38,000 with the Technology package.
With SH-AWD included I doubt it will be under $40,000.

The price of metals are going up, along with all the other raw materials needed to make a car. So car makers are gonna pass that cost on to us. In reality, the 09 tl may be $40k, and the next gen rl due out in 2010 may be around $55-60K

Hmm... i would expect a similar rise in MSRP like the 8th gen Accord and 2G TSX.. probably like.... $2-3k on the MSRP
but what the hell is this "tech" package.. the best thing about the TL, was all options included, flat price.. thats what i always tell people when they ask about my car... if acura starts nickel & diming their accesories and options, business will plummet

yes, but we have to consider that Acura is trying to differentiate the ENTRY MODEL from the BEST LOADED ONE for not growing too much in price...
And it's a right choise...
expect an ENTRY 3.5 FWD 5AT base for about 35k, and a 3.7 AWD Tech package for 42k, not less... it will be worthy.
