4G TL Auto Starter
I am thinking about getting an Auto Starter in my 4G TL AWD. Has anyone installed in their car? If you did can you recommend which one is good. Thanks

I think its for the non-tech packages and its not from the factory it's dealer installed.
when you put the remote start on a push button car there can tend to be conflicts between your keyfob and the remote start keyfob. This happened with my fathers murano took me a while to figure this out.

I am sure someone has installed Auto Starter in their 4G TL. I think the best option I see is by going to Dealer. I'll see what they have in stock and get estimate.

Acura Canada has it as a factory option, but not for the US models, my dealer in NJ wont touch my TL for autostart, the only shop around me willing to do it, wants like $800 for the full viper autostart/alarm system

It looks like acura does make the remote start for the TL its says it for he 2010 so it should fit the 2009. Here's the directions http://www.acurapartssuperstore.com/...arter-tech.pdf

According to my acura dealer, the 2010 autostart does NOT fit the 09, because the '10's are now prewired for autostart (like the 09-10 canadian models)
I'm trying to find the aftermarket immobilizer interface for the TL so I can finally get that viper system...

I have compustar on my 6 speed TL with keystart. It's a nice feature to have but there are few issues with a remote star on our cars:
1. You will have to have 2 keyfobs, one original and one from the remote starter. Can not just use one or the other.
2. Your engine will shut off once you disarm the doors and you will have to re-start once you get in.
3. On my manual transmission it is really messed up if I use a handbrake during driving car will SHUT OFF. I think it is pretty dangerous but that is best the installer could do. The starter thinks that since I pulled the handbrake i am trying to go into the reservation mode and shuts the car off.
4. To open trunk you need fist disarm the alarm with the starter remote then you you car remote to pop the trunk open. Very inconvenient.

Almost, if not all, vehicles with smart key will shut off once you enter ther car when the car is on remote start. But I've heard the Fortin bypass module could enable the ignition take over procedure.
Oem remote starts are garbage. I will say it again "garbage" that does not qualify to be recycle. Radio distance is the major concern which i believ is about 200ft max. Sometime less depending on weather, wall blocking, etc. Might as well hop in your and start it.
But for you guys diy, everything is basically wire tap in and is quite simple.
Fortin or dball2 bypass module and your choice of remote start.
Both bypass module will need to be flashed to specific vehicle. Dball2 will be the less expensive.
