Not again Warrior? Have you gone out and test drove anything yet? You gotta go out there and test drive my friend, it's the only way YOU can make up your mind. Posting here is just going to get opinions from everyone, and everyone's taste is different, the only opinion that matter's to you is yours!
So here's mine, I'm a "new" junkie. I like everything new, even when the masses dump on the new body style, it doesn't matter to me because I love the new design. With either choice your going to win, the 3G is the bomb and I'm sure you can get into one for dirt cheap right now, if my lease wasn't up, I'd still be happily rollin' in it! A sincere good luck with it.

If you think the 4G is ugley then it sounds like you should buy the 3G or look at somehitng other than TL? Don't buy a 4G just because it is NEW, you will regret it in 6 months. Buy it becasue you love the car, both looks and ride!

Get what you like, it's your car. Test drive both of cars (they're both nice and well built), see what you like and what you can afford. personally, If I could afford, def. 4th gen is the choice.

Warrior, trust your instincts. Get what you like and get what you can afford. You are the one driving it. You've got to be happy with your purchase. And Pete, quit picking on people!
Anyway, as someone else said, if you think the car is ugly, why are you even asking about it? There are plenty of fish in the sea, and you're sure to find one that suits your needs. Some options that are similar to the TL:
Infiniti G35x (I can't recommend this car enough, best bang for the buck with awesome handling, AWD, AND sick looks for under $40K)
Mercedes C300 Sport (nice, but a bit overpriced, and a bit on the small side)
BMW 328i (underpowered and overpriced)
Audi A4 (decent for the money, but a bit small)
Caddy CTS (awesome car, but GM doesn't lease anymore)
Lincoln MKS (another great car, but it's $5K more than it should be)
Again, speaking from experience, the best car out of that list is the G35x. If you think the TL is ugly, go take a look at the G35, test drive it, and start doing the paperwork because you'll fall in love with it.
Agreed with csmeance, OP seems too young to drive a brand new $40+ grands car. It's pointless since younger people have much more opportunity in life to drive better cars.
1. 04 WDP Acura TL
2. 04 Corvette Z06 Commemorative Edition
3. 06 White BMW 550i (fully loaded)
4. 07 Black BMW 550i (fully Loaded)
5. 06 Honda Accord EX (every day car)
6. 08 Honda Accord V6 (fully loaded)
7. 09 Acura TL SH-AWD (My favorite)
The list is only going to continue to grow. The point being, don't under estimate us young folks, everyone has the right to buy anything as long as the right is being done.
