365 Days Today

Well, 10,511 miles and one year ago today, October 30, 2010, I bought my 2011 Acura TL Tech. While the last 12 months has sucked for me, I loss the love of my life to another man and each day I walk into the office I wonder if I still have a job due to the rotten economy, the ownership experience with the Acura has been unremarkable. That is a good thing! I've not had any mechanical issues with the car. So far only one oil change and tire rotation. There is not a single nick or dent in the body, crack in the windshield etc. The only item of wear I've noticed, the driver floor mat seems a little worn. My dress shoes, which I have on most of the time, have hard rubber heels. There is not any wear on the drivers seat. Only five people have sat in the passenger seat, so no wear there. No one has ever sat in the backseat, so its brand new. I've noticed that the drivers side arm rest does not seem as "puffy" and the passenger side. The car has gotten since day one about 22.0 MPG. The features I enjoy the most? The keyless start, the outstanding sound system, and general performance. The features I like the least? The tilt wheel, very same glovebox, and some interior items that are made of cheap plastic. A rattle has developed somewhere in the center stack area that rears its ugly head under some road conditions. I wish I could figure out how to take the center stack apart so I could see if I could fix the noise. Since it does not rattle all the time, I don't think the dealership would spend very much time trying to find it. I know some people don't like the look of the 4th Gen TL, but I find it rather appealing. It does not look like every other car. All in all I've been pleased these last 365 days, at least with the car, my life, well, that's another story that you guys can't help me with. Thanks to all who make this forum possible . Thanks too to everyone who has helped answer whatever questions I may have had about my TL. As I embark on the next 365 days, I hope my ownership experience will still be unremarkable.

linmk 2 : sorry about your personal hardship. ive owned my tl for a little over a month, and love it! i agree with all the stuff you like about it, the sound system is excellent, i really enjoy the tech package, the sport/luxery is very nice. i appreciate that acura didnt make the 4g tl like every other car out there. yes there are people who dont like the style, but this car turns heads!
its fun to have an aggresive/unique car.
when i have a rough day, it can be nice to take a drive in my tl, and enjoy what a sweet ride it is.

LinMK2...Congrats on your baby's birthday!! Its nice to see that she is aging well unlike most of us here Let me extend my "hang in there" statement for your personal hardship. Things always seem to work out and I speak from experience, just when we think life couldn't be worse, slowly, things turn around and things get much better. A few years ago, I thought that nothing was going right and today, life couldn't be better.

I am confident that you will hang on to your job and do well and don't want to put your ex down as I know that you do still care for her, but you will be amazed how life improves when you meet someone else.....and it will happen

So hang in there, we are all here for each other and take comfort you have great friends at Acurazine

.

Well, I'm older than most of you, so the women in my age range are not so attracted to cars. Which is rather ashame since I'm a car nut. I may not have a someone in my life, but at least I have a very nice car in my garage.

It's good that at least one lady in your life continues to treat you right! I am in the same boat, roughly... I am older than most as well.

I hope the next 365 is better than the last in the "other than car" area.
