2013 TL AWD TPMS Problems

Help please! I have had problems with the TPMS gauges causing my tires to lose air. One was replaced via manufacturer warranty but it is happening on the other wheels with original parts. I'm slightly over 50k miles but have an extended warranty on the car but dealer still wants to charge me more than $1,000 to replace the original three. It's a hassle -- esp now in the winter -- to deal with this problem and continually need air. Any help anyone can offer is greatly appreciated!

the TPMS are schrader valve's. if it's leaking air from the schrader valve's, you can use a tool, it looks like a screw driver, to tighten up the valves.

Thanks justnspace! It sounds technical ;-)
I asked my local tire place in NJ to help out. They said they looked and tried but the parts are malfunctioning and need replacing. I'm annoyed b/c it started when the car was under original warranty and now they are giving my the runaround, which no one likes. I will try with dealer again in the hopes the Christmas spirit has some influence on their replacing them as good faith under either original or my extended warranty.

Sounds like a quick tightening up with the tool described will alleviate your issues.

I don't know about you, but my time is much more valuable than the $15 spent on this tool

I dont know if the newer TL (2013) would accept "universal TPMS" ?
I know my car does, 2006 TL... instead of buying from the dealer, I used the Universal TPMS from a tire store, for $40 a pop.
the car recognized them as soon as i drove away from the tire store

When TPMS are replaced, typically tire places also suggest their "TPMS package" which includes a few rubber gaskets around the TPMS. Just get some soapy water and spray it around the TPMS to see where it's leaking. If the gaskets were never replaced, that could be the culprit.

Valve core afterwards.

I called the dealer again and he said he would make it work, not sure if that means replacing the valves or just a lure to get me in and try to soak me for $$$$$. I did mention seeing "all the problems with these malfunctioning parts on line and Acura should do a recall.... or even a 'replace on failure' and sticking it to their loyal owners sucks...."
