2012 TL SH-AWD Tech - My Deal
Ok, so I just made a deal on a 2012 BRPII TL SH-AWD Tech over the phone with my salesman.
Price: $38,593.00
Tax: $2,701.51
Doc Fee: $149.00
Tire Disp: $1.25
Total: $41,444.76
The price includes splash guards installed. Unfortunately, I don't qualify for the loyalty or conquest cash, which makes me really
.
I kinda backed myself into a corner though by selling my car too quickly. I put my 1996 Celica (118K miles) on Craigslist Friday night just to see if I'd get any bites. By Sunday night I had a $200 deposit on a $3,900 sale. The dealer had offered me $2,000 for it, since it had rust on the hatch and bottom of the passenger door, but was otherwise in very good condition. Anyway, I should have waited until the loyalty/conquest cash expired to see what incentive Acura offered next, but I didn't feel right asking the buyer to wait on me. So here I am...
I'll be picking up the car Wednesday after work. Whatever cash I left on the table my salesman definitely earned. He arranged an overnight test drive of both a TL and an RDX AWD Tech. When the sales manager wouldn't let me take an RDX, my salesman worked it out with the service manager for me to take a service loaner overnight. He was also very laid back and not pushy at all, which was a nice change from several other dealers I'd been to.
I'll be sure to post pics once I pick it up. The only thing I plan on adding after puchase is 35% tint. I'll have to ask over in the Indianapolis forum whether anyone has a recommended tint shop.
I'd also like to thank everyone for the info they post on this site, as I have learned a lot from all of you. Hopefully I can give something back or pass it forward!

Congrats on the pickup. That is a pretty decent price.
How did you like the RDX (obviously less than the TL).

But the other problem was the overall driving position. Normally I to like lower the driver's seat to its lowest position, or close to it (I'm 6'1"). In the TL, I can recline the seat bottom a little and feel like I'm in good alignment with the steering wheel, gauges, and pedals. But in the RDX, I couldn't get comfortable. My legs felt like they had nothing to rest against (which can be good or bad). I also felt like the steering wheel needed to telescope a little further out for better comfort. Finally I ended up raising the driver's seat to its highest point, kind of driving it like a school bus. That was the most comfortable position, but it just didn't work for me.
My wife (and neighbors) absolutely loved the RDX, so we may end up getting one in a few years to replace my wife's 2006 Odyssey. I certainly won't try to talk her out of it!

Congrats and welcome! I wouldn't regret the purchase - you got a good price and the extra made on the Celica sale was a real plus. Enjoy your new ride!

So I finally got around to getting the tint done and took some pictures of the car. Sorry about the hazy dot in the middle of the pictures. I didn't realize until I downloaded the pics that there was something on the lens ![Annoyed](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/annoyed.gif)
Anyway, as many of you have said, I am loving the car more each time I drive it. Since I'm only on my second tank of gas, I haven't opened it up much, but I do enjoy the SH-AWD going around corners. We have several roundabouts in my area and they are a great match for the SH-AWD.

I ended up going with Llumar 35%. It's a little lighter than I would have preferred, but I'm ok with it. Although yesterday I noticed a few scratches and bubbles (after a week) left by the installer, so I plan to go back on Thursday and have them take a look at it.
